Baby born with anencephaly to please jesus?

RE: Baby born with anencephaly to please jesus?
i don't even know what to do with this. this would absolutely take a new level of strength to not break me, if it were me in that situation. who knows what's behind her thoughts, it's just not for me to knock her. looks like her and her guy wanted some pics to remember ... but for some reason, it doesn't feel right tho.

I have heard about the things like say babies born with anencephaly as part of the "curse" brought about by the "fall" on the whole of creation. However the whole notion of babies being born as a way of glorifing god and jesus (which might have biblical justification see the man born blind story in the gospel of John), I have not heard that from people before.

No, but posting them around the internet for the whole world to see and use it for financial gain most certainly is.

Sicko.

Ditto Agreed... enough to show how fucking 'sicko' this abrahamic religion really is...and the fools that support it!

You know what, I can sort of relate to that. I made an adoption plan for my youngest child. I wanted lots of pictures of him too, but you know what the difference is? I was bawling my eyes out in all of them. They're too private and special for me to plaster all over the internet.

Quote:I agree that you don't need to be a Christian to understand You just need to have a modicum of empathy for a woman who lost her son instead of getting on some indignant rant about how dare she be religious and post pictures of her child and all that.

Not how dare she be religious and post pictures. How dare she express a repulsive thought such as her invisible sky father USED her son as a tool to bring people closer to him... and be happy about it. That's one sick fucking bitch.

As of March 27th they were STILL having benefit concerts for "the family who chose life". How is that not exploitation? The few women I've met in the same situation chose to terminate their pregnancy, but that doesn't make them bad people. We all have to make our own choices. I suppose they could've done the same as Heather, but I totally understand why they didn't. She certainly not better than any of them, and her smiling face in those photos proves it.

Abortions are fairly inexpensive, btw. Just harder to exploit for donation money.

Quote:Its also worth noting that facebook has apologized for removing pictures of her son, and claims that they did so in error.

Since we are both Christians, I hope it is not being too presumptuous of me to say that I hope Heather can draw inspiration from another woman who stood by her dying son until the very end.

I suppose you're talking about your pagan goddess, Mary? LOL Talk about exploitation. If my grandmother got all the money back that she's spent on weird little statuettes of Mary holding the soon to be zombified corpse of jesus... she could probably buy a condo in Florida.

Nobody has capitalizes on tragedy like religious institutions. I'm guessing that's where Heather learned to do it.

OK, so we've got fundraisers now. However, do we have access to information on where the donations are going to? I'm not saying she isn't exploiting the situation, I'm saying that we shouldn't assume that she is.

O....k? What's your point here? You don't know how much she cried. Maybe she cried all her tears during her pregnancy. Maybe she went home and cried. Being able to smile and have a few moments of happiness with your child before they die doesn't mean anything, nor is your way of grieving any "better".

??? Again, you are very fast to judge her....because....she says that her son's life may serve a greater purpose. Its fine if you disagree, but trying to say she is "sick" or a "bitch" for viewing her son's brief life in the most positive of possible ways says more about you than it does about her.

This "STILL" thing might be meaningful if I knew when the child died, how many concerts they had total, what the proceeds went towards, how much money they raised with the first "concerts". And again with the fact that she is smiling in a picture making her a terrible person? You want to dislike that woman, don't you?

And while abortions cost money, they don't cost half as much as actually....you know...giving birth.

"Pagan goddess" I think is stretching the definition of "pagan", not to even mention "goddess". But yes, the Mother of all Christians, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who watched her own son suffer and die. I don't think drawing inspiration and strength from another person is "exploiting" them at all. As a Christian, we believe that is what Our Lady wants us to do Heart

Mary Immaculate, star of the morning
Chosen before the creation began
Chosen to bring for your bridal adorning
Woe to the serpent and rescue to man.

Sinners, we honor your sinless perfection;
Fallen and weak, for your pity we plead;
Grand us the shield of your sovereign protection,
Measure your aid by the depth of our need.

Bend from your throne at the voice of our crying,
Bend to this earth which your footsteps have trod;
Stretch out your arms to us, living and dying,
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.

Another post filled with a condescending and arrogant attitude and this one has obvious lies. Tell me Azzi, do you have any hospitals in your fantasy land where abortions are cheaper than giving birth and it's hospital stay that charges for both baby and mom?

She actually wasn't with her child. She might as well have been with a steak. Without a brain, a human is just meat. What she did seems disturbing to me, but seeing as the infant had no consciousness and thus no rights to violate or feelings to consider, she has a right to do what she wants.

Yes, I think the bottom line here is that, though we might choose to do something differently, this woman was well within her rights. She was not doing anything illegal or that went against her personal beliefs. I discussed something similar today with Tiberius. I am not anti-religious because it is well within a person's rights to be religious, provided that they do not infringe upon the rights of others. This woman has not infringed upon the rights of others or really hurt anyone. I cannot condemn her for choosing to handle her personal business in a way that she saw fit and did not hurt anyone else. I could certainly point out the differences between her choices and ones that I would make, but that would not make me a better person than she is. Her other children look happy and healthy and she looks like a loving mom. In many ways, I envy her ability to cope with the horrible situation presented to her, even if it is based on false beliefs. I also have to assume that the people who donated to whatever fundraisers she was having share her beliefs and that they did not pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Had she been conning people, I would think differently about it.
