[split] Discussion About Potential Rule Change and Staff Action

Switch nationalism with god and you have nearly every theist on this site, yet Mehmet is the only one you are advocating action towards.

If you really do not like what you consider his intrusions into threads, you can use the ignore function.

I think in the interest of getting this thread back on track, given that we have effectively derailed it whilst discussing derailment of threads, I am going to advocate the moving of this discussion to a relevant thread. RD, if you would care to boil the issues down so they do not point to a single member, but particular actions and post a thread moving to change the rules in the suggestions forum, I will happily continue this with you there. In the meantime, I think we'll have to knock it off here or I'm going to have to split the thread.

Would you have us start warning everyone who does that as well?

The bottom line here is, RD, that I was not the only staff member reading that thread and you know damn well that other staff members saw it because Darwinian posted in it and plenty of them gave kudos in it. Also, we are not going to moderate posts that are not against the rules no matter who does not like it. In the interest of keeping private things private, I won't disclose actions I have taken that you have not seen, but I am going to ask you to stop making assumptions about my perceived actions or inactions as an admin. You do not have even a small idea of what I do and do not do because you do not see the conversations I have with the rest of the staff and we do not publicly disclose warnings, unless the member his or herself brings them up. That is all there is to it. You can argue it all you want, but, I assure you, many of us have been here since close to the beginning and what you fear will not come to pass. We've had worse people than kilic here who weren't even racist, or nationalist or anything else that most atheists find offensive and, lo and behold, the worst that has happened is that people storm off either never to come back or to come back and pretend it never happened. This will be no different.

I didn't base what I said on an assumption, I based it on a post you made not long after I had taken the trouble to go through a fair amount of Mehmets posts and put links to the ones with relevance. There wasn't much other evidence of mod intervention available to me.
Darwinians a mod? Seriously, didn't have a clue.
Fair enough. Like I said, time will tell. My reasoning is clear as is my conclusion, he will continue to twist as many threads as he can away from the issues they were meant for to the particular one he wants to discuss.

No hard feelings, I just felt someone should say something about it.

Words are meaningless, friend. Maybe it's time someone acts. You talk and talk, but where is your act?

Words are meaningless? Said like a true moron.
On behalf of everyone here Mehmet, shut the fuck up.
We don't kill or harm people we disagree with, we're civilized.
Besides, this is the internet. Not real life. Remember?
Oh and incase you didn't know? Its midnight in England, goodnight.

I guess you're either drunk or high on drugs to understand my words as anything as they are. They are crystal clear, they do not hold any deep meanings.
I've read your rants, and I've been unable to come to a conclusion. What is it that you wish these people, meaning, the modertors and administrators to do?
And I assure you, whatever they won't do, you can. It entirely depends on you, as I am a fair person. I believe in justice. If you think that I am denied this justice, come and mete out your punishment.
I'll happily oblige.
Until then, your words are as thin as paper before me.

No, it was an assumption. Perhaps you didn't mean to, but you assumed you had been ignored. You were not. I simply can't act on things that do not break the rules, nor do I care to. You were all raising a point that was, at best, irrelevant.

Ninety percent of mod intervention is completely undetectable. Answer me this, if I sent you a message warning you to behave, would you appreciate it if I posted it so everyone else can see "evidence" that I did something? Would nothing short of seeing the staff conversations relieve the ever popular conviction that I'm not doing what I am supposed to be doing? Of course, the closing of the thread was mod intervention. The only rule that was broken was handled.

His name is red. He is an admin.

Only if people let them and then, it is their problem. I'm afraid we won't stop conversations from evolving the way the members bring them. Again, he is often not the one to bring up racism.

Nope. No hard feelings. I would just appreciate fewer Shellspiracy conversations. Big Grin

RE: [split] Discussion About Potential Rule Change and Staff Action
As this thread is about a potential rule change, which rule will be changed into what?
And what will it serve?

RE: [split] Discussion About Potential Rule Change and Staff Action
Well, I assume the issue is about derailing threads to suit an agenda. If RD could be more clear on what he would like to see change, we can discuss it further.

Is this baiting? I'm curious.
