The Creationists' Nightmare
RE: The Creationists' Nightmare
Epimethean Wrote:Can you comment on what the point of suggesting that Isaiah's description of christ must therefore come before christ himself may be? I ask this, knowing that C14 dating can have a variance in dating accuracy of between 50-150 years. What good scientist is going to pin down this argument in such a way?

Ah, I see your point. I guess to him there's a correlation between the tree rings and previous datings of Isaiah. But of course, the correlation is rather weak if what you say about C14 dating is true.

You don't seem to have this problem 90% of the time, that said...

Bullshit, you'd have to establish the "god created" bit before any of the rest held any merit whatsoever. If a creation scientist or creation science is the source of this little gem they are most definitely a creationist, or creation, but most definitely not a scientist, or science. This would also imply, btw, that the earth was not the epicenter of creation, and the distances between that epicenter and ourselves would have to be immense. God, apparently, created a universe and then said, "you know what..I really fucking like rednecks, Imma go find backwater".
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Especially since a recent thread that got kicked around here and immediately debunked ran along these lines.

I almost puked after reading this.

Maybe you should research before condemning, oh wait, you're doing what most atheist do, bla, bla, bla before looking at something, typical. I did not say that I believed this, just that I would like to know more about it. From what little I read this may be an idea that science could consider a possibility, though I do not know this to be true haven't researched enough yet, times limited right now.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Please do research on the behaviors of black holes before you condemn others for scoffing at this crazy idea.

That's along the lines of the argument that says time hasn't always been constant.

On creation scientists, there's many that believe God created everything but not as the Bible says i.e. it shouldn't be taken literally.

This is an article by such a Christian scientist. Worth a read. (He argues for an older earth).

I've said that I believe the earth could be older than 6,000 years, even up to 50,000 years. The short article I read from christian scientist are saying the universe could be billions of years old. I think the article is interesting and worth a look into when I have time.

LOLs. Real scientists have been saying this to the deaf ears of creationists for much of the past century.

Here. I did the hard part for you. Black holes have become a part of common knowledge.

I'm a graphic design major with minors in psychology and advertising, and I'm currently freelancing. Not that it's relevant.
You see, I have a sense of curiosity. I watch documentaries while I work. I watch documentaries while I clean. I watch documentaries for fun. I watch documentaries to help me wind down from the day. Then, I have a website that bombards me with scientific articles that I really enjoy reading.

But here is the most important part: I paid attention in fucking science class.
