Ah, our own brand of American Taliban is upset at the thought of a competitor, even one made up out of the figments of their own mind and misperceptions of American Muslims...
That's funny.

More proof that when Americans hear the word 'religion,' they only think Christianity. Unfortunately, that is also how they interpret freedom of religion.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I just hope that she learned a lesson about the separation of church and state from this whole debacle.

That's the problem, they don't learn. I don't think anyone will believe me but I'll say this anyway. I was a Christian for 30 years. In the 1980's when churches really began to push their congregations to be politically active I warned them about destroying the barrier between church and state (I called it a barrier to point out that it was like a wall that protected both from each other.) I pointed out (and still do) that if another religion becomes dominant in the U.S., say perhaps the Muslim religion, they could start to impose their will on Christians. The dumbasses didn't understand that they were trying to destroy the very thing that protected them. Of course most of these dumb fucks never grew up in an area where theirs was the minority religion. I had to hear a Jewish prayer at my graduation (not that I cared though, it didn't bother me ). I bet these dumb fucks would shit their pants if they had to do a Muslim prayer at the beginning of school. How about a Hindu god at the courthouse? A WICCAN symbol thingy at Christmas time? Solstice celebrations?
These dumbasses were people I knew. They were perfectly ordinary people until they got into the stupid shit they believed in. I didn't understand it then and I still don't understand it. I still have debates about the same damn shit. Why?
BTW, I'm not usually this crude with my language, Ok, rant over.
I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
