No religion is homogeneous. I have never come across a consensus on any given moral issue.

Ppl want to go into what constitutes evil in biblical texts, ignoring the fact that the people that wrote the book were writing about a good and just god. The stance seems bizarre to me. If you want to disagree with them and their exposition of that that's great, but then you shouldn't pretend that you're addressing Judeo-Christianity or the Judeo-Christian God.

Notice this. If you want proof here is no good god they know about, it comes from their own words.
All religious types have individual definitions of what god is or what it does, as such there can be no divine revelation or there would be consensus.

Or is it that one Christian will lie about his knowledge of what other Christians do or say, because they have no interest in any measurable truth.

If I were god I wouldn't do what God does? Then I will either not be like god or god isn't god.
We should hold god accountable for everything. We perceive death and suffering from our limited perspective, and we don't agree that this can be justice. If we were truly god, who is just, we could see that justice, and our objection would be removed.

You obviously didn't catch my query the first time, I mean that or you were being blatently rude but I just can't comprehend someone as polite and well mannered as you would do *that*... even if my post was above one you chose to answer.

Lots of people wrote the bible, after the verbal tradition had passed it down a few generations.
The evidence of this can be found in good bookshops everywhere.
They got their information from varied sources. Poets and songwriters from their imaginations, theologions from their ponderances on the subject. Christians and Jews use the blanket term "god inspired". There is the rabbinical tradition where a Rabbi's teaching has to be cross verified by two established Rabbi's before anything new is accepted as correct. The church fathers scrutinised the texts and came up with the canon.
