Unfortunately he attracts a large following. "Who is the more foolish - the fool, or the fool that follows it?"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Obviously those who follow. In light of the fact that there are brilliant minds within Christendom its a shame that some of us choose to follow such poor thinking. With all due respect to Mr Comfort, again I hear he's a nice guy (this came from an atheist who had actually met him).

Unfortunately it's all too often a positive feedback loop of Ouroboros levels. The fool attracts a following of fools, causing the original fool to behave even more foolish out of sheer celebrity. As for the atheist who has actually met him, the only person of whom I'm aware who meets that criterion is Thunderf00t, whose interview and subsequent summation videos are... well, embarrassingly childish on Ray's part wouldn't be stretching it too far. Is this the atheist you had in mind, because the anonymous "an atheist" does nothing to support the view of Comfot being a nice man? Neither does the view of him being a nice man really change anything; you could be nice and still an idiot.

Yeah, kindness says nothing of intelligence (it is nice though). No he's just an atheist I know on another forum.

Idiocy or otherwise isn't really about intelligence; it's about a willingness to learn as opposed to a stubborn closed-minded insistence that one's position is the only right one and it's the rest of the world that's out of step with you.
My Forever Princess had rather a problematic education, with the result that she quite often doubted her own abilities in certain areas, particularly maths, areas in which she had received little to no education. Consequently she would at times berate herself for being "stupid" simply because she didn't know things. I'm proud to say that I was able to correct this misapprehension she had of her own abilities, as she was one of the most intelligent people I have ever been privileged to know and would always surprise you by approaching a situation from the most unexpected directions. As I always said to her, just because a person might not know a thing does not in itself make them stupid. Stupid is not a lack of education; stupid is not wanting to learn.

Reminds me of a saying, which isn't intended to be directed towards anyone.
None so blind as those who wlil not see.

Popularised by Matthew Henry (1662-1714), English Presbyterian minister and writer, though the proverb has no clear origin (it's certainly not from the bible but was probably inspired by Bible verses, possibly Matthew 13:13 (“Therefore I speak to them in parables: because they seeing see not…”) or Jeremiah 5:21 (“Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not…”)
I prefer this arrangement (like your example, not intended to be directed towards anyone:
“None so empty as those who are full of themselves.”
--Benjamin Whichcote (1609–1683)
( Source and wording for both proverbs)

The empty drum makes the most noise.
A personal favorite of mine.

No, that'd be the empty cat that makes the most noise. Anyone who actually has a cat will tell you that.
