I live on the West, between Malveira and Torres Vedras, 25 Km North of Lisbon. You have been here working or somethin? Vera is a typical Portuguese name.

Vera is a typical Portuguese name.Studying the language in Porto, Lisbon, Cascais and again Porto (not in the same year). Then volunteering in Rio last year/beginning of this one. (actually, Vera is of Slavic origin, but seems to have spread all over the world... not very popular anywhere anymore, though, mostly old ladies are called this nowadays  )
But the eternal dilemma - how can we be happy amid the unhappiness of others?

There go the libertarians ideals out of the window, huh, ol'bean
I feel sorry for the people of Greece, their situation is horrible compared to other EU countries. Unemployment is huge, bills are higher and higher etc. The system is rotten over there, but I strongly feel the EU should be supportive of ordinary Greeks who are drowining in debts. They might lose the Euro, but they'd better stay part of the EU. Otherwise, it will mean anarchy or worse.

But that's where the cookie crumbles D_A, the EU support comes at a price, and for what they are doing here, they give 'macro-economic directives' the gvt has to conform to. They apply pressure over the mid to low classes, strangling the economy, instead of going to the milions they, and their big money people have, they hit the bottom feeders. Since being a politician turned into a profession, they aren't trusted anymore. |
