When I was a Christian they would use this argument to explain why miracles don't happen like they used to. Fast forward to 1:27 on the video.

I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise

At least youtube exists, as far as gods go that's a massive step in the right direction.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Youtube has more answers, it's like an oracle.

1:27 and on is about scientific miracles. The whole song is recommendable.

What always bothered me about this reason for a lack of miracles in the modern age was how odd it sounded. Why did humans have to invent their own way out of their problems. Leprosy? Hey god we don't need you anymore we've got drugs for that. Why didn't god give this information earlier? If god wants us to be dependent on him then why would he allow us to create things that would make us less dependent on him? What's so new and special about our time?
