"Paraplegic shot, killed armed intruder" seems a lot less credible than "landlord shoots tennants". That last one is all the craze these days, angry white males shooting and killing (usually black) teens. At some points teens are gonna shoot back.

Most murders in the US are intraracial. 86% of white homicide victims are killed by white people and 94% of black homicide victims are killed by black people. Blacks make up 12.5% of the US population, include about 47% of murder victims and commit more than 52% of the murders. While a black person in the US is at considerably higher risk of being murdered than a white person in general, a white person is 2.5 times more likely to be killed by a black person than a black person is to be killed by a white person. It is not an angry white male problem.

The leading cause of death among black males between 15 and 19 isn’t angry white men. It is homicide at the hands of other blacks. 48% of all deaths in that particular demographic are the result of homicides committed by other blacks. If you exclude unintentional injuries (22%) black on black murder accounts for nearly half again as many deaths as all other causes of death combined within that demographic.

Poverty probably accounts for some of this discrepancy between whites and blacks. Blacks suffer from a much higher overall percentage of poverty in this country than whites. However it can’t be all of it because there are twice as many whites as blacks living in poverty here, and the number of violent crimes committed by these two ethnic groups is fairly close to equal. No, a large part of the discrepancy is due to our criminal justice system. Blacks are incarcerated at a much higher rate than whites for the same crime. Many of them are there for nonviolent drug related crimes. Most of those currently incarcerated will be repeat offenders. Many of them will commit violent crimes the next time around. It is a product of our flawed system.

What? Maybe I don't understand. Is this posted up as an example of good gun use? That the paraplegic had a gun handy to shoot an intruder who was armed with a gun?
A gun that the intruder found that the paraplegic had left laying about?
Is this an example of responsible gun use, to sleep in a bed with a loaded gun, not even under a pillow, but under the sheets with you?
How many more people are going to die before the inevitable happens to this car crash victim and the gun in the bed goes off by 'accident'?

That movie creeped me out. But without a real suicide the special effects guys really did a good job depicting what a bullet does to the head. I'd suggest people view that clip who owns guns if they think they are soooooooooooooooo safe.

Oh and I did intern at a tv station a long time ago. I don't know if anyone remembers that PA politician who was about to go to jail, held a press conference and then put a magnum in his mouth and blew his brains out on TV. I saw the unedited version and it looks exactly like that movie.

Hey I'm with you, johnny b!....It's just horrible how that scoundrel of a crippled up paraplegic shot a poor misguided and misunderstood armed intruder, in self defense, who was pointing a gun at him!...I wonder what would've happened to that scoundrel paraplegic if he hadn't been sleeping with a pistol under his sheets on that particular night?...and I don't think the paraplegic's gun went off by accident...I believe he shot the armed intruder IN SELF DEFENSE on purpose....Oh, BTW, nice looking children you have in the members photos section. Yeah, I remember that incident...I saw the unedited version too...it was pretty bloody, like someone turning on a faucet...on the otherhand, I still wouldn't hesitate to use a gun in self defense against an armed intruder who's threatening the lives of my family and myself...and I don't believe that any of you wouldn't choose to do the same if it meant protecting the lives of your families.

I don't have a gun in my house, so there is no gun for the intruder to find, I therefore am not forced to shoot him. I think my children are safer in a house where people are not firing guns at each other, I am funny that way.
