Glad to hear it. We have been burgled many times in even my immediate family. So we must be in different subsets. What is the difference in our subsets?
Statistics uses sampling. We analyze our sampling techniques by direct observation - which we often describe as personal experience.

Having been involved with amateur Rugby, some connection to the Paras and being an punk, I was involved in a few punch ups in my youth, as well as being kicked around the floor by some cavaliers from the civil war recreation society (English). I have always felt safe enough that I have never needed a gun and the presence of a gun would only have made any of those situations worse. I will take an occasional face slap over a killing.

I'd agree with that. I have been in my fair share of fights, so I know what it is like to get kicked about a bit... I have also had someone pull a knife on me. Now, if that had been a gun I'd probably be dead. Instead, I have a nice scar and the proud memory of disarming someone with a knife. I could have easily died though... I guess I was just lucky enough to be less drunk than he was.

I've similarly never needed a gun (beyond my time in the service) nor do I imagine that the presence of a gun would have made any situation i was in better (or worse) for that matter. Personally, I'd rather not take the occasional face-slap or the killing. What remains, after all this waxing back and forth about what "assault" might mean or what we might prefer, is that you are still not "safer" than me, unless you wanted to take "safer" to mean "safer" only from a gun...at which point, it's an unsurprising and far less than noteworthy observation.

Are you in the subset that other people steal guns from?
Try not having guns, the problem might sort itself out.

New Capital Crime in California.

Certainly worthy of the death penalty with the cops serving as judge, jury and executioner.

I must be. I'm sure that burglars do their very best to steal guns from non-gun owners, but are rather unsuccessful. Maybe they just need to try harder..

Hey guys, look, it's a regressive telling us to blame the individual for acts of violence. Regressives love to do that when you blame guns, social or economic ills.

...Lol...what a naive kid you are...poor violent criminal. Let's absolve him of guilt and blame it on his environment. It's not his fault that he can't exercise self control.
