Hell
RE: Hell
Yeah, on the whole. But that doesn't stop the fact it's imperfect and that there's horror.

It amazes me whenever I temporarily ignore the horror because I'm focusing on the beauty.

Really? You can't look at the whole thing including the horror and think 'wow'? You think.. shit - I could have done this better/ this could be better?

I look at it all and think it's just amazin. Admittedly when my lucks out I might curse it; and I sure wouldn't want an organism planted into my head that'd wipe out my colony. But the whole thing is just beautiful I recon. Warts n all.

No I don't think it's all beautiful. I don't think a parasitic worm that bores into the eyeball of an African child, is "beautiful" for instance...

No, the worm is dangerous, it's killing thousands upon thousands of children, i'm not going to admire a parasite, it's an enemy.

Does the phrase 'Dante's Inferno" ring a bell?

Quote:Inferno (Italian for "Hell") is the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy. The poem was written in the early 14th century. It is an allegory telling of the journey of Dante through what is largely the medieval concept of Hell, guided by the Roman poet Virgil. In the poem, Hell is depicted as nine Circles of suffering located within the Earth. Allegorically, the Divine Comedy represents the journey of the soul towards God, with the Inferno describing the recognition and rejection of sin.

It's an enemy of humans, not the planet/ universe. We could be seen as a parasite of the planet.

If you truly don't think it's horrible - and therefore, it is far from "perfect", it's certainly not the case that "all is beautiful" - and wouldn't prefer it if parasitic worms didn't do that to children's eyeballs: then I think you're either 1. Unethical, 2. Insane, or 3. Both.

RE: Hell
All is not beautiful or perfect... and I have to wonder: how can we look at that worm as disgusting... when we are fine with the slaughter of millions of animals every day?

The worms are dangerous... they kill many thousands of humans...

But we are much more dangerous... and we kill many times more humans than the worm could ever hope to kill. We have much more power than the worms that must feed off us. We can do more with that power. Our power is hundreds of times more destructive than parasitic worms. But unlike the worms... we can create with our power. That would be a better humanity: one that strove to create... rather than one bent to destroy.

I admire the worm for what it is... that does not mean I like it. Kind of like how I would admire a fancy sword. I admire humans as well... but that doesn't mean I think they are perfect. Yes, we can easily be seen as a parasite of Earth... but we can also become quite symbiotic with it.

Like I already explained Evie.. I wasn't counting myself outside the human race there! Of course WE find it horrible - how can't we? Looking at the BIG PICTURE tho', we can see a point, as to any parasite, or any living thing as it has to make use of other things to exist, this is how it works. Beauty is astrangeway to describe it, because it's human language which we usually associate with things that give US pleasure. Horrible the same spectrum. It's life and that's howlife works. We all life and thrive by this system, therefore it's good... good as in it doeswhat it sets out to achieve: proliferation of life. Are you anti life on earth?
