Why don't Christians pay Muslims the same respect ?

RE: Why don't Christians pay Muslims the same respect ?
For Christians Muslims are essentialy a bunch of folk who came along and copied their religion and had the audacity to deny the very divinity of Christ the bedrock of their cherished faith turning into some mere human prophet who never rose from the dead. So you can see why they're not so keen.

Please explain how following a simple explanation given that human nature has changed very little is "hating," without resorting to middle school antics. Thank you.

People who live their life hating on those with other beliefs live a shitty life... Enjoy your shitty life ya hater... Call this middle scholl antics and I'll call you a hypocrite...

Understand now???

You on the other hand presume they are hating. Its more of a point-and-laugh thing.

hahahahahahahahahahaha

I love my shitty life, except for my job, which has nothing whatsoever to do with your beliefs or my lack thereof. Try again. I don't "hate" your beliefs, I just find them stupid and nonsensical. The only hate you will ever see from me is when belief causes one human to harm another human without consent - and this goes for religious or new-age or whatever belief.

I guess you just will never get it...
You call the antics middle school antics, yet you belittle, laugh, and point fingers like a grade schooler. You're basically a cyber bully with a shitty life who has now "confessed" to acting like a child...
I guess mental abuse is not harming anyone, huh? Fucking hypocrites...

I called shouting "hater" middle school antics. I don't 'hate' on shit for no reason. Mocking something which I can give you a definite reason for finding ridiculous is the backbone of comedy.

But please, tell me - the receiver of plenty of mental and emotional and physical abuse in my past - how I'm mentally abusing you. Go ahead. Lay it on me. I hope it's good, because if mocking your religion or your decision to embrace Kosher for having food poisoning once is mental abuse, you better lay the fuck down and give up.

I answered, you're obviously too feeble-minded to understand the difference between an allergy and food poisoning... ("feeble-minded" - that's me mocking you in case you didn't get it)
But being feeble-minded AND bigoted is what's it all about, huh? Ignore the fact that pork is dangerous if not cooked properly, ignore the fact that a great number of people are allergic to shellfish, ignore the fact that eating scavengers poses health risks...
Just keep pretending that my decision is based on religion and attempt to mock me. You do not harm me, I admit, because you're just too bigoted and silly to even admit that you may not know everything. As such, you're not worthy enough to fret about except to point out your obvious logical flaws.

Early Christianity was almost identical to Judeaism (sp?) in it's origins. After all, Yeshua was a Jew according to the story, correct?
.

It's impossible to know what the Jewish members of the original cult really believed.

Gnosticism - Jewish Virtual Library

Quote:In addition to these contributions unwittingly and unintentionally made by Judaism to gnosticism, there existed in Judaism itself, at the end of the Second Temple period, emotional and intellectual attitudes which were close to the spiritual world of gnosticism. It is possible that these had a more direct influence on the emergence of gnosticism or, at least, that they served as seeds for a few of its ideas. There are indications of this in the literature of the Dead Sea Sect. Common to both gnosticism and the Dead Sea Scrolls is the view of esoteric "knowledge" as a redemptive factor, which enables a group of select people to bridge the abyss separating the human from the divine, and to rise "from a spirit perverse to an understanding of you and to stand in one company before you with the everlasting host and the spirits of knowledge, to be renewed with all things that are and with those versed in song together" (Thanksgiving Psalms, 1QH 11:13–14), and to be those "who heard the glorious voice and saw the holy angels, men whose ears are opened and hear deep things" (War Scroll, 1QM 10:11).

The literature of the sect also reflects a dualistic outlook on the world conceiving a schism between the principle of good (the light) and the principle of evil (the darkness) each with its own hosts of angels and spirits. This view, however, in contrast to its expression in gnosticism, does not step beyond the framework of Jewish belief in divine unity. Even the feeling of disgust and revulsion with man and the impurity of his material basis ("the mystery of the flesh is iniquity"; Manual of Discipline, 1QS 11:9) does not culminate in the notion of distinction between matter per se and the divine spiritual world; "For the world, albeit now and until the time of the final judgment it go sullying itself in the ways of wickedness owing to the domination of perversity" (ibid., 4:19), but God "created man to rule the world" (ibid., 3:17–18). Thus, despite a certain spiritual kinship between the writings of the sect and the world of gnosticism, the former are not records of a "gnostic Judaism," but rather reflect certain general attitudes of mind shared at that time by others including Jews, which could be the point of departure for truly gnostic speculations.

It looks like Christian Gnosticism could have developed from ideas held by the Dead Sea Sect. The original Jewish members of the new cult could have started out with these ideas but they'd have been Jewish ideas because Christian Gnosticism hadn't been invented yet.

Now to something very interesting from that article.

Quote:In the Rule of the Congregation the leadership of Israel is in the hands of two "messiahs," one priestly and one lay. In some other Qumran texts the lay messiah is referred to as the "Prince of the Congregation" and seems to be a Davidic figure. Both "messiahs" may possibly correspond to functions within the sect, or perhaps the parent movement. However, the Community Rule neither describes nor implies such figures, and other Qumran texts present other redeemer figures or even none: in the Melchizedek Fragments the "messianic" role is assumed by a heavenly high priest who will atone for the sins of Israel on the Day of Atonement at the end of days. There are also elsewhere echoes of the more prevalent apocalyptic concept of a revolution in the manifestations of nature itself, an earthquake and a flood of fire in the entire universe (Thanksgiving Psalms 3:26ff.). There is therefore no unanimity of views in the various writings of the sect about the nature of future redemption.

I tried to find out more. Melchizedek Fragmentsl

Quote:11Q13 (11QMelch) is a fragment (that can be dated to the end of the 2nd or start of the 1st century BC) of a text about Melchizedek found in Cave 11 at Qumran in the Israeli Dead Sea area and which comprises part of the Dead Sea Scrolls. In this eschatological text, Melchizedek is seen as a divine being and Hebrew titles as Elohim are applied to him. According to this text Melchizedek will proclaim the "Day of Atonement" and he will atone for the people who are predestined to him. He also will judge the peoples.[64]

From here I went to The Dead Sea Scrolls, A New Translation on the HarperCollins website and did a search for Melchizedek on their 'Browse Inside' service but most pages are unavailable to read. Sad

So were the Melchizedek Fragments just a copy of an early text which influenced the Jewish cult members or was it a text which was written after the Jewish cult got underway and had split into two groups? We'll probably never know. It's difficult to see how the name Melchizedek could have ended up as Yeshua, though.
