That aside, a lot of people DO go to brothels for personal connections. Ever hear of a GFE? People aren't just paying for an orgasm. If they are usually a part of it... then what the hell is a 'pick up line'? And why the hell are they so prevalent?
I probably have heard of it... but not with those acronyms: 'GFE'?

NO YOU DON'T!! D:< *strips away imagination*
But I was exaggerating. =w= We have imagination, but we have TV and computers to do that for us, so what's the point of using it?

I don't, and you fail to see that. But there only need to be a few kids that are. You are assuming the best, but lawmakers have to err on the side of caution.

Most people have sex for personal connections. I'd even go as far as to say that a lot of bar hookups and one night stands are, in a roundabout way, striving for a personal connection too.

Then why start things off so quickly with sex? Can't that wait until there is a relationship first? Is sex not 'home run' so to speak? Why try for home when you haven't hit first base?

Pornography has been described as "a book you read with one hand'
D H Lawrence wrote "pornography does the dirt on sex"
The first porn I ever came across was "Justine" by the Marquis De Sade. (I was 22):
First 20-30 pages;raging erection.
Next 100 pages; "Boy,what an imagination, this guy was a genius!"
Another hundred pages; "This is one sick puppy and I'm bored"
Generally,I find pornography sordid and boring. Erotica is another matter entirely.
I suspect pre adolescent children would get bored very quickly and that adolescents would grow out of it. In my opinion, like promiscuity, attachment to pornography is often indicative of emotional immaturity as well as problems with intimacy and commitment.

Definitely, Padriac.
But where does one draw the line between Pornography and Erotica? Is there even so much of a line? I think I understand what you mean... but I don't know how to put that understanding in writing
Perhaps pornography could be defined as 'REALLY shitty erotica'? Whereas the stuff halfway worth watching/reading/admiring/the like is 'Erotica'?

Quote:But where does one draw the line between Pornography and Erotica?
The difference between say "Bilitis" (which I saw when it first came out in1977) and say "Debbie does Dallas",porn of about the same vintage which I finally watched about 10 minutes of in the early 1990's. (after the divorce ).
Erotica is romantic, often idealised and visually beautiful. Pornography is as subtle as an enema, and as about as aesthetically pleasing to watch. However,I guess when it comes to actually drawing a line,it comes down to individual sensibilities.
I also dislike tacky.EG: I hate 'Californication' mainly because I think David Dukovny's character is a sleaze. I also dislike "Two And A Half Men" because of Charlie Sheen's disgusting attitude to women. (which I understand reflects his real life behaviour) The character is a role model for his nephew who is tacitly encouraged to behave the same way as his shallow dropkick uncle, rather than his more decent father who is portrayed as a weak, gay-as-a-lark loser.
