I could compress it into one line:
Fail.
In C++, I would represent it thusly:
struct tm *ptr;
printf("%ld", tm->tm_sec);
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

That is C though.
Good to see other programmers on here. :)
How about this one:
root @ localhost # :(){ :|:& };:

It is also perfectly valid C++, asshole, and I'll inform you that I guarantee I have far more experience that you have years on this earth. So please, phrase your disagreement in a programming analogy and have your ass handed to you again.

Did you see my analogy of atheist approaches to the meaning of life in bash, above?

Shell scripting is for people who can't handle memory management, noob.
P.S. Doesn't look like a valid bash script to me.
P.P.S. Do you even know what the above code snippet will do? Hint: it's simple.
ETA: I'm surprised someone schooled in C / C++ wouldn't immediately recognize that the code I posted would dump core due to a null pointer exception.

Yeah I recognized it, that is why I posted a fork bomb. Try and run it. It is legit bash code, will make a *nix machine crash.

If by "crash" you mean "run slowly", yeah. Reach the user proc / mem limit and your fork bomb is toast (Mint linux running under VirtualBOX [not that it matters]).
Apparently "crash" means something different to you than I. Unsurprising, actually, considering our disagreements to date.

I think you're an honest yet utterly insane person if you're seeing and hearing god even though he's no more real than the tooth fairy. There are children the world over who can hold up a small coin as evidence of the tooth fairy's existence, and they've got more evidence for their fake friend than you have for yours.

If you can prove that miracles are possible to the James Randi Foundation, you'll have $1,001,000 in the bank. Since you know how to do real logic, you should have no problems collecting. Then you can offer even more money to random people on the internet to get them to believe in your imaginary friend.

"Science does not disprove Christianity. There is no scientific evidence anywhere that even remotely comes close to challenging any of the central tenets of Christian doctrine." And while that may be so, the 'model of scrutiny' embedded within the scientific method may very well be the achilles heel for the whole Christian tradition. For what science and religion, not to mention the rest of us, thought impossible has now happened. History has its first literal, testable and fully demonstrable proof for faith and it's on the web. I expect both atheist and religious will be gnashing their teeth sooner or later!
The first wholly new interpretation for two thousand years of the moral teachings of Christ has been published. Radically different from anything else we know of from theology or history, this new teaching is predicated upon a precise, predefined, and predictable experience of transcendent omnipotence and called 'the first Resurrection' in the sense that the Resurrection of Jesus was intended to demonstrate Gods' willingness to reveal Himself and intervene directly into the natural world for those obedient to His will, paving the way for access, by faith, to the power of divine Will and ultimate proof!
Thus 'faith' becomes an act of trust in action, the search to discover this direct individual intervention into the natural world by omnipotent power that confirms divine will, law, command and covenant, which at the same time, realigns our flawed human moral compass with the Divine, "correcting human nature by a change in natural law, altering biology, consciousness and human ethical perception beyond all natural evolutionary boundaries." So like it or no, a new religious teaching, testable by faith, meeting all Enlightenment criteria of evidence based causation and definitive proof now exists. Nothing short of an intellectual, moral and religious revolution is getting under way. To test or not to test, that is the question? And I'm testing this new teaching now myself!

Welcome, klatu. I'm thinking that you and jstrodel will get along just fabulously.
