Virtually all cultures have linked sickness to carnal living, and it is clearly true from natural consequences of actions, as well as arguably from the principles that human life consists of and its relation to God and others.
I don't think it is foolish to think that lifestyle choices effect health.
So which is it? Demon sent or god given or life caused? I prefer definitive answers with evidence not "virtually all cultures" and nonsense like that.
I know it is stupid to blame infant mortality on lifestyle choices. I know it is stupid to blame death from contagious disease on lifestyle choices.
I also know that if your malicious, malevolent deity can only act through changing the life-span probabilities your deity is governed by actuarial statistics having no personal input and is therefore immaterial in the scheme of things. Nice going.

stupid to blame consequences on choices? Did you just say that? Also, a deity that uses negative consequences to teach? I mean, that sounds totally reasonable to me. Humans do that all the time. Why wouldn't a god that understands everything teach us the best way we can learn?

After 5 pages of fucking drivel....strudel is off the deep end and G-C is his customary ass-holey self.... it is apparent to me that what "god" wants is money. And these dickheads fork it over it vast sums.

Assuming you mean me, I do not see why blaming infant mortality on the life style choices of infants is not stupid. Nor do I see that death from contagious diseases like malaria and smallpox should be blamed upon life style choices unless to some extent it is modern times. And in modern times flu, pneumonia, and such hardly make social living a matter of poor life style choices.
As to the teaching, ALL the consequences only appear as modified probabilities which were not identified until the latter half of the 20th c. They say not a single thing about the immediate consequences to the person. If you want to teach with negative consequences you drop a lightning bolt on someone while shouting ADULTERY or whatever for all to hear.
If one leads a "sinful" lifestyle in the opinion of the local priests and has their probabilities shifted towards early death and then dies from being hit by a speeding truck it sort of defeats the whole purpose doesn't it?

To help those who are in need.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Then, it is entirely acceptable to place the blame on God for the myriad congenital disorders which affect every single person who has ever lived, some of them savagely disfiguring and some outright fatal. I would say it is just as acceptable to place the blame on a God who designed the human body in such a shitty way to have so many failure modes in the first place. Unless he did it on purpose and he's evil, of course.

I tried that, but apparently giving random strangers a handjob is frowned upon

Why should God have to design the body so people don't suffer? Why couldn't suffering involve the human experience of life? What is wrong with God allowing suffering in the world?

It kind of goes against the apologetics of fine tuning. If every exquisite detail which we find all around us is supposed to be an argument for its being tailor made by a designer, then we are allowed to bitch when we find the fit too tight or uncomfortable.

Because it is not necessary to design it that way if you are capable of designing anything, any way you want. If you design something to fail on purpose and it is avoidable, you are intentionally malicious. There is no other explanation which makes sense. An omniscient being can only design humanity to suffer if you desire the suffering, as the only other explanation which does not point this way is that it is an experiment, but experimentation is pointless when you are all-knowing.
