I don't think I should treat Muslim pupils in my School any differently to atheist pupils because I feel the difference is not really that intense.

You can argue against it with phenomenal cases or with data that -implies- something else like implying when sharia law is discussed it means chopping off hands etc... Silly characters in the media have been given a monopoly on these terms: not representative of people in Britain who are far more mellow...

So next time Fahad is serving your fish and chips - don't worry about fish and chips having arsenic in them! And don't assume that because he hasn't put a sign up saying 'I denounce Bin Laden' on his shop front means he's signed up to Al-Qaida with a monthly subscription or that he is happy that the teachings in his life have been hijacked by terrorists. Maybe just ask what your Muslim work colleague, health professional, food despensor thinks instead of getting secondary sources.... and if you think they are still after your blood or awaiting some imposition of an Islamic political system (akin to the imposition of government in Afghanistan by tanks and bombs etc.) then basically be prepared to be paranoid for the rest of your life - cos a fifth of the planet are Muslim and fairly soon Gid willing 1 in 10 Britons could be Muslim!

Maybe Fahad gives a big pantomime muhahahahaha after he tells you that 9/11 was one of the worst things that has happened in his lifetime..... scary times!

The fact that not 100% of Muslims are acid throwing, child killing, bomb throwing terrorists is beside the point. The point is, there is a substantial component of adherents to Islam who ARE those things and worse.

In the OP, we have just such an example of the hatred Islam inspires. In this case, a few atheist bloggers (they claim they aren't atheists but that may be to avoid prosecution) have been jailed and face prison terms of up to 10 years, all while hundreds of thousands of Muslims call for them to be murdered.

Rather than trying to minimize the horrors inflicted in the name of Islam, you resort to a strawman. Do you denounce killing people in the name of Islam? Or do those bloggers have it coming for "insulting" religion?

No one is saying all Muslims are bad. However, Islam itself seems to attract a great many murderous, misogynistic, child killing thugs. Why is that? Where does that impulse come from if not the edicts of the ideology itself? There is no shortage of really nasty passages in the Islamic literature calling for just such acts.

I posit that it is somewhat less than one fifth. There is likely a portion of the counted that don't believe, but remain silent for fear of death for apostasy.

Also, 'devout Muslim' would come across much better in your argument than 'extreme Muslim'.
