I think by subjective "using your best judgment" is meant. That does not mean that morals are all just opinions, nor that logical reasons cannot be used to support them, but rather that there isn't any empirical or mathematical way to determine right from wrong, and we ultimately have to make a decision without an absolutely certain answer.

The modern world is based on an anything goes paradigm. Why not adhere to what the norm is? It's basic social proof.
