Well murder laws don't protect people either, or stop having their lives ended...
What's your point? At what point did I say I wanted murder legalised? Are you under the impression that marriage is compulsory for couples as a means of protecting people from being conned?

There's at least 3 fallacies at play there. What the hell is the point of invoking the fact that marriage laws aren't perfect in a discussion like this when no law is perfect? It's a factual, but irrelevant statement.

Marriage isn't even a law. I have no fucking idea what you're going on about.

Are you deliberately acting like an idiot? When two people marry, they are bound by marriage laws ffs.

But they aren't bound by laws forcing them to get married in the first place. Murder isn't only illagal once you've killed a person, is it?

What marriage laws are you even referring to? Married couples follow the same laws as everybody else.

Yes, and no. There are laws specific to married couples, after all. For instance, you cannot be compelled to testify against your spouse. A hospital has to allow you to visit your spouse, unless the patient requests otherwise. You are automatically considered the next-of-kin. Any rug rats that come along are automatically considered his responsibility even if he ups and books.

Oh, and one more thing- even though this isn't a law, if she ends up meeting a sudden violent demise, he's the prime suspect. Tongue
