I don't expect people to change overnight, but outlawing and actually punishing people who act like stone-age barbarians would be a pleasant start.

Depends, are the aggressors white and the victim black?

As I said, they have not been blessed with the fruits of colonialism as some of the other arab countries were. They are experiencing it now, and in time, they will loosen up, though I'd say they'd reach a degree of public freedom that is adequate and yet still in accordance with their values.
Although perhaps I should tell you what actually sparked this. The pre-moslem arabs were yes, people who enjoyed trade and wealth, yet this trade and wealth put them in a position where there was a gap between the noble and the common man, as it was in Europe back then.
Back then, the niqab was...somewhat of a dress of prestige for noblewomen, who disdained the thought of being looked upon by commoners. The common women were not allowed to wear it, and well, as it held a connection of prestige, after the coming of Islam, most women were quick to adopt it. Not so for say, us, the Turks, where it held no such connections, after we formed a secular country, the multitude of the women gladly discarded it. Yet in Saudi Arabia, it is considered not just from a religious point, but from a social point of view for a women to be seen by a man who is not her husband or relative is a grave stain on both her husband, her family, and herself. And since the women there do not really work on the fields, nor perform tasks outside of the house in urban places, they really don't see much of a reason to really fight against it. And well, they could, actually, I don't think that the Saudis can actually put the multitude of their women to death for walking around without a Niqab, as they too have mothers, wives and daughters, Saudi law would eventually yield the way. But it's a matter of time.

I lived in Izmir for about 8 years, I've got some great and well, not so great memories of the place.
Marmaris, only have been there once.

Yeah Marmaris is a resort town. Lots of tourists. Very clean, pretty place.
Izmir is dirty. But still fun.

You can associate guns with "better racially", but that's your problem. He simply associated guns with "better conquest wise", which you would be more idiotic than the most moronic of nincompoop to deny.
What they had was better tools over all, which including those that can be used to murder. If you think better tools overall makes you degenerate, then may you become extinct and the rest of the world become even more degenerate.
BTW, It is hard to argue the Europeans were more murderous than other races. When confronted with the opportunity and means to kill someone to gain one's own ends, hardly can it be argued that other race would have dived into it with any less relish and lust than Europeans.
It's only when inferior tools caused them to become more the murderee than the murderer in a contest of mutural murder, that they squeaked about how much less humane the Europeans were. If the shoe was on the other foot, Europeans would undoubtedly squeal like rats just like the others, and the others would pontificate about how not only were they superior, but they deserved to be so.
fuck you too.......... the im very familiar with the book as well as the doc.............. it has the conclusion that europeans are a better race because they figured out how too make guns or had better immune systems or some other bs like that...... the book is racist it's not my own opinion it's backed up by several in depth criticisms the book is actually a required reading in many colleges it has adundant criticisms on it as well as the theory of enviromental determinism as a whole........... the major crtiticism is that it's fucking racist im not just making this up or stating my own personal opinion.......... look it up..........if your not smart enough too do so... i could find sources for u if ur that fuckin lazy ........but regardless it is a fact............ atleast we can agree "better conquest wise" does not mean" better racially"........but sooooooooo what

Summer, c'mon girl. This isn't 1913. It's 2013. We'd just as happily send a whitey to jail for killing a black guy as much as anyone else.

Racist is one thing. Being able to commit horrible crimes and not get punished is totally different.
Do you know any country that isn't racist to some extent? I can't think of any.

Well. The one distinct problem for the Jews was that thing called monotheism. That became a problem from Augustus onwards, when Roman emperors were considered gods. Polytheism was the norm for a Roman citizen, with the emperor being one of those gods. He didn't have to be the only god, as such a thing would be foreign to them. But if he wasn't in your list... well, then, you could expect problems.
There were Jewish inhabitants of the Roman world (and Rome, the city) from the very earliest days.
The whole monotheism thing became a distinct problem when the Jewish cult of Christianity gained popularity. Jews has occasional difficulties with the Romans (in places like Alexandria), but they were smart enough (and well-established enough) to get by. Christians, though... not so smart.
