I'm glad he's willing to talk about and address some of the legitimate issues people have with feminism. I mean, I support gender equality but I'm still hesitant to accept the title "feminist" because I see a LOT of bad behavior from self identified feminists and I don't want to be associated with that. I think we kinda need to admit that "feminist" is kinda an umbrella term, encompassing a lot of different ideologies, many of which contradict each other (for example, sex positive vs sex negative feminists and trans feminists vs womyn-born-womyn feminists). Because of that, whenever the issue of feminism comes up, I always ask how the person I'm talking to defines feminism before I can really continue the conversation, especially before I can say whether I'm a feminist or not.

Anita is a perfect example of unintentional irony. She whines about a damsel in distress in video games, then plays the victim & goes all damsel in distress in real life. Modern feminism isn't even about women standing up for themselves, it is just about whining about what victims they are.
Second wave feminism was the last good wave. That was actually about women standing up for themselves, third wave is just one giant mess of victim complexes. |
