I mentioned an opening I usually use, knight's defense, as about the only opening I know, but there is another. I don't know the name, but you can move the queen and bishop out in a way that allows for a quick checkmate if the opponent doesn't catch what you're doing.
You move king's pawn up one space, then queen in front of the bishop's pawn, bishop to c4 (if white), then queen to take the enemy bishop's pawn. The queen is guarded and safe, and the king has nowhere to go unless the queen's pawn was moved or something like that.
