why is 'god damn' a bad word?

been hanging out with a christain group just because i have 0 other friends offline and overall they cool people until they start talking about their views and stuff.
they yelled at me the other day for saying "god damn subway for charging me 8$ on a 5$ footlong" and were like "god is love, he doesn't 'damn' people and saying 'god damn' is using his name in vain."
so do they skip the Old testament these days or what?

When you say god damn something, you're asking/telling god to damn that person or item. Obviously you aren't supposed to tell him what he should and shouldn't do.
Christians like to focus more on Jesus than Yahweh, and he was at least a little more pleasant. He seemed to actually care more about people than himself at times.

They send themselves, silly. Someone once told me that if he didn't make the alternative a place of torment, then no one would want to go to heaven. Obviously he needs a better PR campaign.
