Fortunately if he does come back, I've got something that will keep him down for good this time...

We have an extraordinary universe/existence/life and God is a suitable extraordinary explanation for the extraordinary existence we know exists. If there is an extraordinary God that created an extraordinary universe you can have an extraordinary revelation from God to his extraordinary creatures which then will have an extraordinary effect. Boom, there you go, everything ties up into a complete package of extraordinaryness.

The idea is no-one is going to be kept down, or at least there is a way of avoiding it because you the eternal fullness of life given to you as a gift from God.

Except we don't have an extraordinary explanation for where this extraordinary god came from. You're just pushing the question back a step and creating any even grander problem to explain.

The extraordinary thing about God is that he is eternal and was never brought into existence. Therefore you won't need that explanation.

God is the grand explanation for a grand problem not a problem that needs to be explained.

Nice of him to offer to 'free' humanity from a bad deal that he imposed on us before we were even born. That's what any sane person would want, to spend eternity with the person who screwed them over for no other reason than that he could.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

The universe is only evidence of a universe. There is no evidence for any god that has existed throughout history. The book that people wrote is a claim. No more evidence than books written about older religions. We might as well be worshiping any deity that's claimed to have created the universe, if its existence is evidence for creator gods. There's no way to narrow it down just by looking at existence.

You don't impose freewill on anyone you allow them to have it.

God has given you the freedom screw to yourself over. What grace from God does is restore you back to the perfection required for your immortal life. If you lived for only say 80 years the flaws you have or may develop won't likely be that big a deal but if you expand this over an eternity of existence.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

I'd rather not be twisted into what Yahweh thinks is the perfect servant. Thanks.
