I'm going to go buy 12 cases of girl scout cookies right now!!!!

Quote:oooookay. If you want to know what I said, it's that not buying cookies is not bullying someone. That's it. Oh I also said that you guys sometimes over-react to things. Which I think considering this diatribe, is fairly accurate. Other than that I don't really care one way or another.
You're so disingenuous it isn't funny.
You opened your mouth with:
" How is it really different than all the liberals who boycott the boy scouts?"
That's pretty fucking obvious you're trying to play the "both sides do it" canard and I'm not having it.
Claiming it's an overreaction while tacitly trying to legitimize it by linking it to a boycott based on real verifiable policies is pretty weak Captain.
If you don't care, then why bother trying to legitimize something without logical basis?

Hahaha, I don't have an agenda regarding either the boyscouts or girlscouts. I'm consistently amazed that anyone really cares and think it's funny that you are reading so much into it. My whole point was that you guys shouldn't care if a group of people decide not to buy cookies. Whether those reasons are legitimate in your eyes or not, it doesn't really matter.

I suspect this is a marketing campaign by the GSA to boost sales. The Pro-Choicers will buy more and the Anti-Choicers
look as if they never walked past a cookie in their lives, anyway.

It's not really a matter of the cookies, to me. The reason it's worth discussing is that it's probably the most innocuous, non-threatening group these right wingers could go after, based on the least factual motivation I've ever seen them mobilize over.
The reason it's worthy of being cared about is that it's emblematic of a certain type of rabid conservative's rush to engage outrage mode regardless of the facts involved. Whether they were boycotting cookies or fighter jets isn't really the issue at hand.

You do realize you've posted three times to let people know you don't care, right?

By the sword of Chingiss Khan, you people really don't have anything better to do as it seems.
The world is in flames, all you can think about is abortions.

This isn't the first time they've made such claims. They've also claimed that the Girl Scouts are an organization run by scary feminists and lesbians. OH NOES!

Well I posted once to let everyone know that they are over-reacting to a cookie boycott (My god, the horror!) and then twice to make fun of people who were over-reacting (and way over-anaylizing) to my post about it. Everything but the first one has been in reply to people speaking directly to me. I was accused to having all kinds of positions I don't have or don't even particularly care about because I don't think people not buying cookies is particularly worth getting upset over. In fact the opening post said that anyone boycotting the girl scouts is a worthless parent. Really? You are a worthless parent if you boycott cookies and I'm the one getting flak because I said I don't really care about if people boycott the girl scouts or not. At the worst those parents can be said to be misinformed or believe some stupid conspiracy about the girl scouts. To brush all of them as worthless parents because they don't bother to fact check stuff on the internet (I think a good portion of this forum can be said to be guilty of that) is far more egregious of a statement than saying that it's not really a big deal if someone boycotts cookies. I'm pro-choice and fairly politically apathetic but I think I'll join the boycott of girl scout cookies just to piss off all you overly sensitive liberals.
