Lets compile a list of everything wrong with christ-insanity

What annoys me:

Christians think they know more about how the world/universe works than highly respected scientists, despite having just read a book with talking snakes in it.

They also think they are more moral than me, whilst worshipping a God that wanted to make it clear to them that he commited genocide in the past.

Lastly they think that I deserve to be punished for not sharing their insanity.

The problem people have with Christianity is that Christianity claims that men are sinful and in need of a Savior.

Ideas like righteousness, repentance, worship, glory, honor, humility etc etc... leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the proud and self centered.

Jesus claimed that men loved darkness rather than light and those who love darkness are not willing to come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

If Christ had come proclaiming a gospel of eat and drink and be merry for tomorrow we die, then many of you would be lauding Him as a great man, a bastion of human liberty and hedonism.

The proud and self centered man cannot accept that he needs someone to save him. Life revolves around him and his desires and his wants. He wants men to honor him and worship him and look at him.

Yeah right, we don't believe because we are too proud to submit to a god. That's it.

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot, we're atheists because we like our hedonistic lifestyle. It has nothing to do with the lack of evidence for the existence for any god.

I should stop donating my time and money to the various charities I do, and take that extra money and use it to by drugs and hookers. What a great idea.

You do not need evidence to convince you that you should live a life of self-denial and self-sacrifice. A life of love and kindness and humility. A life wherein you always are giving and never expecting anything in return. A life wherein you do good to them who spitefully use you, always endeavoring to live at peace with your fellow man despite what his views may be.

You do not need proof in order to know that that is the right way to live.

That's a pretty overwhelming task. Also rather pointless since you'd have to be way more specific when you say Christianity. It's not like it's a single belief system. There are hundreds of different religions, sects and cults that identify as Christianity. Some Christians believe in a literal Noah's Ark, many do not. Some Christians believe in a literal interpretation of Genesis and many do not. With so many different beliefs covered by the label, you'd have to be way more specific.

Then live that way and be charitable in understanding that people are not always going to see things the way you do. Love the Christian the same way you love the atheist or the Muslim or the Hindu. Respect them and honor them as fellow human beings. Yoy may disagree with their beliefs and that is fine. But love them.

Regardless of one's beliefs, you should love them. You may disagree with the doctrine, that is fine. But you should still respect them and honor them as fellow human beings. As much as is in your power you are to live at peace with all men. We all know this is the right way to live. If we know it and fail to do it, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

You can "love" someone and still mock their belief system for being the absurdity that it is. What makes you think people are automatically entitled to respect? Do christians who picket funerals have respect? Why should I respect such people. Fuck that. Fuck them.
