The Piper I will try to be rational with you. I don't feel that attributing all evil to a non-existent being namely; Satan is rational. Man has in my view a duality within himself that is just a part of nature. On the one hand he is benevolent and kind and loving and on the other he is one bad ass evil son of a bitch. It just takes a little prodding to get that little evil man within to come out and play. Wow I just thought that sounds just like your God a kind and loving benevolent Lord until you piss his holy ass off and then you get to see the dark side of good. That is when God says fuck this I am going to fuck you up!!

I assume you received discipline from your parent's to keep you on the right track because they love you?

Parents can distribute their "discipline" rather unkindly. Even to the point of abuse or just simply mild cases of repeatedly sheepish behavior by the child. Either way the parents themselves have incorrectly dealt with the child. I've seen the causes of poor parenting, and I'm sure you have too. Is god so perfect that he deals with each person correctly? If he does indeed discipline like parents do (as you had said), then can he possibly discipline incorrectly as parents often do?

Did your parents devise a place of eternal torture and then create you knowing full well you were gonna end up there in the end despite their 'disipline'?

The character of God as found in the christian bible goes well beyond 'disipline' and into full blown sadism, machoism, murder, infancide, torture.
