surah 2:62
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

This contradicts the following:

surah 98:6,7
The unbelievers among the people of the book (christians and jews) and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.

Therefore the quran is not the word of god.

Do you know what metaphysical means? It is a common word in philosophy and usually exits the realms of epistemology as it enters into the category of the unknown. You cannot form an objective conclusion about metaphysical claims as they are entirely subjective and outside physical experience. God is one of such metaphysical claims. This is why I do not go about debating whether or not God exist. It is entirely irrelevant.

I believe our lives are the sum total of the choices we make, regardless of whether we are religious or not. My life hasn't changed much, in the sense that I still choose to make good decisions, even if it's hard, or I struggle. The struggles of life will always be before us, whether you believe in a deity or not. It is in how you react to those struggles that makes the difference, as to the quality of life you might lead.

Abandoning Christianity and religion in general, has made me more aware of my own decisions, now, instead of looking for some outside force to rescue me. Not believing in Bible lies anymore, freed me to thinking clearer about a lot of issues. I also stopped letting people treat me like crap, which when I was religious, people for some reason took that as a license to take advantage of me.

I am not particularly found of religion as it is used now a days. I myself dislike theological institutions and being religious has no benefits, it is just a personal choice. You like one color and I like another.

So, how has religion made your life better?

I never made a claim at all saying that being religious makes one's life better and if anything religion in the usual sense is extremely harmful. Theism is one thing but religion is another.

The former speaks of a time before Muhammad, before the jews and christians can be held responsible for their beliefs, the latter holds for those who refute god and his messenger. Oh god, you just said that I believe I hold superior views which is something I specifically deny because being an atheist or theist is irrelevant in one's life. I can debate you on the nature of the existence of god but proving that god exists is answering a metaphysical claim which is not provable in the objective sense.
