The Historical Jesus is real and He rose from the grave

Yeah, that would mean Mary was an unwed mother, even if she eventually married her child's father. If I'm not mistaken, that still qualifies as a "bastard child" but those more versed on archaic sexual mores might be able to educate me.

All the old "empty tomb" argument. The problem with this is just like a stage illusionist, you are either in on the trick, or too stupid to realize it is a trick. Could it be that the some Hebrews got so desperate to want their savior to show up in their time that they concocted a hero and marketed it?

If you know women cannot literally be sawed in half, and you know all the atoms in a jet won't magically disappear, because of David Copperfield. Then it should be totally conceivable that it is a myth sold to people that wanted a super hero.

It isn't even a trick. It's a report of a trick about 70-100 years later.

And shitheads like Rev think it is real.

It's shit like this that demonstrates how disrespectfully uninterested you are in carrying on an actual dialogue.

No matter what I right I have a feeling I will receive criticism.

Which version of Satan are you talking about? Going by the Book of Job, Satan works for God.

Book Of Job - Prologue on earth and in heaven

Quote:The prologue on earth shows the righteous Job blessed with wealth and sons and daughters. The scene shifts to heaven, where God asks the satan (ha-satan, literally "the accuser") for his opinion of Job's piety. The satan answers that Job is pious only because God has blessed him; if God were to take away everything that Job had, then he would surely curse God. God gives the satan permission to take Job's wealth and children, but Job praises God: "Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return: the Lord has given, and Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." God allows the satan to afflict his body with boils. Job sits in ashes; his wife prompts him to "curse God, and die," but Job answers: "Shall we receive good from God and shall not receive evil?"[9]

Job 1

Quote:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

God can even use Satan to teach us lessons.

I'm sorry but I don't follow your line of reasoning. God the Father is the Father of Jesus. Mary is the mother of the man Jesus. Joseph was married to Mary. Joseph helped raise Him.

Nope.

Quote:Matt 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

It strikes me, who are the idiots here? The guy who wanders around the board making inane platitudes and not engaging in any sort of discourse, or the 25 who follow him as he wanders from topic to topic vainly attempting to bait him into even the remotest semblance of intellectually honest debate? Maybe both?

I know we'll never get anything resembling an intelligent remark from him. But he's a great poster-boy for atheism since he displays the shallowness and absurdity of christianity with every post he makes. So, being bored with my work duties at the moment, I'm having fun watching this idiot repeatedly make a fool of himself.

I have been sharing the Scriptures and trying to answer these questions. You can respectfully disagree with me but brushing me off as unintelligent is unintelligent.

Well, we can treat that scientifically, and see what results we get. All you can say is that what you're currently writing is getting you criticism; to test your claim that anything you write will get criticism, you'd need to try writing a lot of other things. Like an experiment! Big Grin

So, we're already got plenty of tests for what happens when you write glib, short, polite but not well thought out nothings. Why don't you try writing longer, rational, well supported and engaging posts that don't fall into special pleading and display some level of empathy and interest in the atheist position, and a willingness to meet us halfway in discussing your ideas on neutral ground? You know, anything that shows that you're not just interested in preaching bible verses and feeding your own righteousness complex?

Why not try writing some of that, and see what the reaction is?
