What Do I need Saved From?

Remember what Jesus said about this world; I am not of this world, neither are you of this world. And when he was upon the cross, the rulers and authorities in their ignorance did not know all He was accomplishing. At His death He broke all their bonds and that is why the temple was split from the bottom to the top, so that those who could not cross over before, would now be able. Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.
He warned that many false prophets would come in the world, and many there are. Sadly people do not seek the truth, but allow themselves to be guided by blind ships that have no course. And many are afflicted and in pain and think that if they go to church every week and pay their penance, they are saved. And they run to and fro looking for the Kingdom of God in this place and that place and they simply cannot find it! Because IT IS NOT IN THE WORLD. It is right where Jesus told them to look for it. Within.
No one is saved because a pastor wrote the date down in a bible and handed it to you. That is ego. Being saved means that you have poured out your entire heart, mind and soul to God because you are ashamed of who you are, and you simply cannot bear to be alone in this world anymore without Him. Half repentance will get you nowhere but feeling good about yourself for a few days. Whole repentance will change your entire life, and fill you with something you never had before. Peace and Hope.
What are you saved from, you asked?
I always imagined that being separated from God was like dwelling at the bottom of the ocean; where man cannot go because the pressure is too low, and strange, creeping things move around in the dark where its cold and silent. That's not somewhere I want to be. If God is giving you a gift, why refuse to take it? do you want to be reborn back into this world over and over again, to feel pain and suffering, or worse, end up at the bottom of the ocean with no hope?
You think God is far away from you? He is right there inside you. just waiting for you to give Him a chance. He is the one who truly loves you, why do you think He sent His son down to this wretched place to be beaten, laughed and spit upon and killed. He didn't deserve that, I did. And you did and everyone else who reads this, because we were born into this world unclean. And that is not our fault. that is the fault of the rulers. And He knows that. That is why He gave himself over to a perfect death, so we could follow and live with Him forever. You are heir to the kingdom of God. Find it. Know who you are.

All those words and no actual content.

"Sigh" some one's left the cat flap open again.

I hate to say it, because it seems like he has something to say here, but all it comes off as is [Image: y4ehe4ep.jpg]

I get the feeling a summary would be worth reading, though.

Yet another example demonstrating that having one's tonsils tightly wrapped around God's cock disables the portion of the brain responsible for understanding basic scientific fact.

you weren't saving anyone. Christ saved them from the consenquence of their sin.
Quote:The same God who supposedly loved his people so much he sent his son to die for them - Because if that's the case then that makes no sense what so ever.

So God is willing to have his son die for people but because the Clergy have fucked up his true word beyond belief he would punish people for thinking its a bunch of bull shit?

Is that really true of God?
The Clergy has no impact on your salvation. That is a personal matter between the individual[/quote] and God.

Unfortunately people spreading the word is about the only reason most people even know about Jesus or Yahweh. Unless they happen to stumble upon a bible and start believing all the stories and stuff. I doubt that a large number of people who hadn't heard of it would start reading the old testament and think this god was very appealing to the modern age individual.

So yes, I'd say your average christian or clergy plays a big role in getting people "saved".

'The average Christian' was not mentioned in the op nor is the 'average Christian' considered clergy.

RE: What Do I need Saved From?
I'll agree with both of those. What's your point? You don't like how I referred to the OP as being a typical christian before s/he left? I was commenting about the need for people to actually spread the word in order for people to convert, thus negating your comment that the clergy had no impact on being saved. You shouldn't belittle the follower's part in gconverting someone, since christianity would die out if everyone stopped talking about it.
