Human body is the best God can do?

Human body is the best God can do?
The human body is a very weak and poorly designed organism in so many ways. It either leads us to believe God didn’t love us or he wanted us to suffer.

… Or does it support the theory of evolution by means of natural selection?

Is anymore evidence truly needed to discredit the former?

When you consider that the human body is the result of millions of years of evolution by natural selection, it is an amazingly complicated machine. If you believe that it was 'designed' by a 'creator', you must also admit that this 'creator' mucked it up dramatically.

I sometimes wonder if humanity hasn't gone beyond evolution at this point. We have taken control of things to such an extent that 'natural selection' doesn't seem like it can have much effect on us anymore. Those genetic anomalies that cause change (over generations) are now countered by modern science. Those born with these anomalies are now able to reproduce, passing those genes on to the next generation when natural selection would have prevented it. Our own knowledge may eventually be the driving force behind our devolution. Good thing it takes so damn long!

I am always astonished over how efficient it is.

Humanity hasn’t, as you put it, gone beyond evolution. We are simply aware of evolution and can manipulate it to our benefit, in the same way we managed to go to the moon.

But you’re correct in that disadvantageous genes are being passed on, and those problematic alleles will have an increased frequency in the genome.

In "The Greatest Show on Earth" Richard Dawkins has a whole chapter devoted to the evidence of "un-intelligent design" not only in humans but in other mammals as well. If there is a god he is one shitty engineer!

Why would this deity design our bodies so that our windpipe and esophagus share the same tube? This is pretty stupid. This brilliant being couldn't foresee the hazard of choking to death when eating?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

So win win... It's not God because it's complex and it's not God because it's imperfect! Go team Big Grin

Well.... isn't "God" supposedly "perfect"? And if that's the case, wouldn't you expect him to design something that doesn't have any flaws?

God...as portrayed in the Buy-Bull always seemed like something of a fuck-up.

Clearly this deity loves sea mammals like blue whales more than us then, since their respiratory and digestive systems are separate from each other. Choking to death is pretty much impossible for them.
