Heaven - An awful place for Christians?
July 21, 2014 at 4:15 am
I'm perfectly aware that the properties of Heaven are just wishful thinking and depend on the believer, however I get the impression that supposedly in heaven:
Everyone is equal (very socalist and un-American).
No aspirations, one cannot work their way up the social ladder, or try and becomes richer.
No guns
No violence
No racism
No discrimination
No military
No democracy (I'm guessing God can't be voted out).
This to me seems much more like an idealised socialist state, than a capitalist one. Given the average American Christians hatred of socialism, why do they want to go somewhere that is a socialist paradise?
Getting beyond the childish religious bullshit, it actually asks the more serious and interesting question, what would a perfect world and society look like? If a world is perfect, does it mean that for us as humans there is no challenge and no stimulation, and we are much like a well kept zoo animal?

Only in America could this list be described as socialism.

God doesn't' need an army, his fan-club already does the job

What in the world makes you say this?
Some Americans are bigots, some aren't; but those attitudes aren't inculcated by the sociopolitical system.

No marriage and no sex.
Seriously though, the most lasting happiness I get out of anything, is the satisfaction I feel after I've done something difficult but worth while. Heaven should not be a place where everything is provided to the point there are no challenges. That would get boring in a hell of a hurry (pun intended).
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
