. . . . and sadly do not expect to stay long. I think this may be the same type of deal as the other forum I just left. As in, I expect nothing but potentially insulting things to come my way and no real help to understand the elements of science/philosophy that I have trouble with still (I keep hearing "google it" when I would like, and ask for, valid source materials). But I also seem to have trouble letting go of my attachment to humanity. Silly me. I say this because the other forum, like this one, is no haven for free thinkers as I was hoping for. I say this, because there are plenty of religious people here, which means there is a large, potential threat (how I have always viewed all religion). So I find this, like meeting anybody new, religious or not, equally as terrifying. Just being honest. But I'm here, welcome or not.

Well there's nothing like joining a forum, criticising that forum's membership (who you don't know) for insulting you (which they hadn't even had the chance to do as of your OP), and then acting pompous and superior by insulting them despite the fact it's the thing you were just complaining about/

Being the internet you're likely to see things like rudeness and insults, but mostly this place is full of love and support. Seriously, this person seems to be having trouble with victimisation: possibly, they've been horrifically victimised and are responding by being overly defensive, maybe they're suffering from an unjustified complex or it could be something else entirely. It's such a shame they decided not to stay as I can think of a few of us who've been through healing journeys from similar situations and have been helped by people on this forum.

He/she seems like someone that takes words out of context constantly, and likely lumps everything into the negative. Being ultra sensitive and confused is not a good combination.

When I was dating a girl once, a good friend of mine would blog about us and his opinions of our relationship. I found it slightly rude, but knew his mind worked in odd ways that allowed him to justify everything he did or said. I confronted him in a sensitive way and asked him to please not post open blogs about me or my girlfriend, even if the content isn't malicious in nature. I made the mistake of saying that I would only request this once, but your blogs are yours to do with as you wish, but I'm not comfortable with the world knowing that much information about me and my partner. He took it as a threat that I would beat him up if he continued writing these blogs and he ended our 6 year friendship because he thought it was a warning of violence. We've never spoken since. Sucks but some people are just special, or in his case a living, breathing result of too many prescribed pills to straight his mental condition after years of acid trips.

Or this person here was just on an agenda to prove atheists are all mean and rude people, which he has failed to achieve.

Sounds like you may take quite some time to shake off years of religious indoctrination. But you will get there. Meanwhile keep reading the forums post what you like. Just ignore the occasional trolls and fu**wits that hang out in every forum. Atheist bigots are just as bad as religious bigots, its a right of passage in the backlash against their former religious upbringing. You don't say what it is that you require an answer to. But you have all the answers in your head already, just put in some work thinking through it all, something religions don't like you to do.
