Picture? Share it!

RE: Picture? Share it!
A year or two ago (seems like), I was at the dog park on the bay on a very cool and humid day and came across this old guy making bubbles the size of a bus. Once again grateful to have a camera on my phone. These are some of my more popular photos on flickr.

I think those three are the best but several are pretty good. If you click on the image it should take you to flickr and from there you can see the others if you like.

You can see most of my fellow bubble watchers are on the other side. I really like to challenge the sun directly. You can get some fabulous photos .. when they are completely destroyed.

This one cracks me up. 1st photo - dead asleep; 2nd photo - shutters to the senses open but brain not yet engaged; 3rd photo - both perception and cognition engaged .. but no sure traction yet.

Love the bubble photos! The people taking them from the other side with their back to the sun are missing a great view!
Those colours are amazing.

And cute dog. He's (she?) adorable. I love the smiling whilst asleep. Big Grin

You two are both beautiful.

At first I thought you may have missed the no-dick rule.

And then you just blatantly included a photo of your pussy!

Okay fine. I want to see more photos. Here are a couple of mine where I think the lighting is interesting. I'm not clever enough to make it happen on purpose but sometimes it seems I get lucky.

Promised these some time ago...

Rock Mountain National Park:
Bear Lake, early in our hike. Sky is blue with only a few clouds, weather is perfect. What a day to be enjoying one of Colorado's most beautiful places.

Spirit Lake, our second scheduled stop. The lillies were blooming. First time I've managed to time it right in years.

And a close up of a bloom:
[Image: RMNPHike-2014-08-08-03-SpiritLakeLillies.jpg]

Another view of Spirit Lake, this time from above. Clouds are moving in and the temp has dropped a bit but it's still a good day for a hike.
[Image: RMNPHike-2014-08-08-04-SpiritLakeFromAbove.jpg]

We got off trail a bit for a photo of the stream that flows out of Dream Lake and into Spirit Lake. Weather has turned and we've gotten a little rain, but we're pushing on!
[Image: RMNPHike-2014-08-08-05-MountainStream.jpg]

Some of the wildflowers to be seen along the trails. Not sure if these are alpine or sub-alpine. I really need to learn more about this stuff.
[Image: RMNPHike-2014-08-08-06-AlpineFlowers.jpg]

The last stop of our scheduled and soon to be interrupted hike, Dream Lake.

We had many other stops planned and tried to push on to Lake Haiyaha, but the weather had other ideas.

Shortly after this we could see that above 12,000 ft. it was turning to snow so we finally gave in and headed back.

By the time we got back to Spirit Lake...
[Image: RMNPHike-2014-08-08-09-SpiritLakeAgain.jpg]

Argh....
Such is weather in Colorado, especially the high-country. We could have waited it out and gone on to visit some of the more remote lakes, but it also could have dropped into the low 40's and given us hypothermia. So, we headed back...

On our way out, we decided (since the weather was once again fantastic) to stop in the Moraine Basin where I got some photos of this guy:

Anyone know what type of bird this is?!?

Well, hope you all enjoyed the photos.

At first glance, it looks like you could be in our Sierras but then the high mountains are so much different. Beautiful setting. Ridiculously cold for a swim?

The important thing is you were there in the right season. I'll bet 'spring' comes late this high up.

This so reminds me of the time we backpacked into the Wind River Range in Wyoming, a little South of the Tetons. We hiked into an area called the "Cirque of the Towers". Did you happen to run into Captain Awsome? People have got to climb this baby.

I'm guessing a magpie. Definitely looks like a crow relative. Beautiful bird well captured.
