I'm pretty sure it would even count as blasphemy, claiming to know Jesus' thoughts on giving blowjobs.

Yeah, and watching the justice system completely fail him, plus the two years in prison they're trying to book him for, will only improve matters. He's going to come out of jail just so constructive, I bet. Because that's totally what happens in prison, right?

Seems like an actual follower of Jesus would be compelled to forgive the miscreant and tell him to go and sin no more.
Are we to infer the DA is one of us ??

Must be one of those evil atheist I've heard so much about...
If it had been Jesus himself there on the lawn, he surely would simply have turned the other... erm, the other... well... you know

That's right, people who do things you mildly disapprove of or find puzzling should immediately be stripped of their human rights! You've got it all figured out!
Does that mean I can finally issue death penalties against people whistling on the sidewalk? Because what have they ever done for us, eh?
There are better ways of expressing freedom of speech than rubbing your crotch on a statue's face. He wasn't trying to be deep and insightful. He was trying to tick people off. He succeeded.

If this kid wasn't 14, I would slightly agree with you, though not to the extent that this DA is taking it.
This kid is guilty of nothing more than being a dumb adolescent with no ability to think about the consequences of his actions. In the age of Facebook and Instagram, these kids get caught now. I would be willing to bet that this isn't the first time a dumb tween had that Jesus fellate him. It's just the first time (that we know of) that a dumb tween took a picture and put it online.
Does he really deserve to be facing 2 years in prison as a 14 year old? Is that going to do anyone any good?
ETA: I sort of wish the atheist activist organizations would stay out of this for the kid's sake. I feel like they would only inflame a situation and make it about atheists vs theists rather than this kid getting a fair shake at realistic consequences.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Have you all gone mad? Even contemplating a prison sentence for this shit?

I suggest you keep your justice proportional.

Not sure how that qualifies as a crime.

A kid acting out sexually in a religious context should be investigated by Child and Protective Services.
Might be something in the kids background at his family's church* that might be unsavory.
*or religiously inclined people in his life
