Turned into a used car saleman awfully quick.....when you're done with all that grease I have some axles that need a good lubing.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That was never going to fly, and I'm at least comfortable with assuming that you're smart enough to have known this. Again, "offer the "worldview" you've put forward", I'm not selling you anything. I'm simply giving insight into why I believe what I do. If this is foreign or suspicious to you, I don't know what to say. I'm trying to be honest with you about myself, but if you doubt what I'm telling you about myself, what is the point? RE: Was Jesus a God or a man?

I don't doubt it. If I doubted it then I'd be all winkies and patting you on the back. It disturbs me, because I'm willing to entertain the notion that it's true....that this is precisely what you believe..every jot and tittle.

In all seriousness though, I think some of these questions may have pushed Hez into some degree of cognitive dissonance. The responses don't actually address anything and clearly he's more intelligent to just simply return to quoting common dribble they teach you in Sunday school.

With all due respect, atheism (but not atheists) disturbs me as well. But that doesn't mean I can't engage in healthy discussion or that I write off the individual because they believe differently. I stand by what I said, I value an individual seperate from the beliefs they hold. Haha well the tangent of my personal beliefs derailed the thread, so I seem to have forgotten the question at hand.
Its not that we disagree, its that we disagree and find your reasoning both inconsistent and in certain cases somewhat morally vacant.

Yeah..and chances are atheism disturbs you for reasons entirely unrelated to atheism - meanwhile...I'm just going by what you've decided to share -in this thread-. I'm not writing you off because you believe differently, I'm not even writing you off because you upheld the rights of despots and tyrants the world over with a single sentence. I'm simply making sure that this doesn't slip by, greased by pious indignation and appeals to some mutual respect that you cannot possibly maintain after that single remark (not that you stopped there.......ffs).
