What was God's divine plan and purpose for this species? Did god judge them and on what basis? Will you be co-habitating in heaven with Homo Erectus who existed some 500,000 years ago or how about Homohabilis from over a million years ago? Which group would most define Adam and Eve? If they were the first Homesapians, then how do you explain all these other primitive species? With all due respect, please provide me with your most logical explanation as a theist?

If you are religious you are a neanderthal.

Due apologies to real neanderthals who look increasingly like they have levels of intellect considerably out of the realm of comprehension of creationist.

"The coming of Man" if you will. There must have been hundreds if not thousands of Homo sapiens born after that to other Parents as well. Adam and Eve just symbolized that the age of man had arrived. Subsequently, the rest is all about how man took unfair advantage of their developed brains to dominate the Earth. Survival of the fittest

The last species to evolve? You know there are other species to have evolved since human beings, right? Humans are in no way the last species to have evolved.

Indeed, species of domesticated animal has to evolve later than homo sapiens since they only evolved because homo sapiens have already been evolved.

So Genesis 2 got it wrong when it said

"1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made."

As long as you find it funny, that's the main thing.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

There were first Aquatic Microorganisms, then fish, then amphibians, reptiles, land animals, then man, it all took 700 million years from the first Marine Speck. The Jewish word for day "YOM" means age. So no . . . It didn't all happen in 6 days.

Man was the last to be created. There were animals before man and of both genders. Since Neanderthals shouldn't technically be called "Men" I don't think it conflicts that God created man. ...

These are my views. Why? Because I had and still had a love of Science before and after I came to the FaithSmile

This is pretty close to how I used to answer the question when I was still Christian. I think my answer was that they were created in the same age (day) as animals, but didn't have souls, and only people did.

Of course, I don't believe that now and it's all presuppositional, but that's how I would have responded to the OP five or ten years ago.

Quote:- God created man in his image. I don't know about you, but I'm not calling a Neanderthal, or homo erectus, or habilis, or autralopethicus MEN.

You need to worry about religion less and Paleoanthropology more. In the grand scope of things it is far more important and useful.

Neanderthals were not sons of Adam, and therefore could be killed for sport, which might just be what finished them off

I read it. That's not an explanation. It's an excuse.

Drippy is a christard. Their entire history has been built about regurgitating drivel in the belief that the more you puke it up the better it tastes.

Sorry, drippy. Bullshit remains bullshit no matter how many times you bring it up.

Our species is far from the end of human evolution. Imagine the possibilities with biotechnology and nanotechnology alone. The next species will have modified DNA and I don't imagine anyone choosing not to enhance their offspring's DNA below that of modern civilization. Trust me...in 100 years, we will be the latest "Neanderthals".

Ever hear of Singularity? Who needs god if you can live forever. Man has always been his own god. The next species will realize that and begin to embrace it. They will obtain the power to control much of their own destiny and won't need to depend on silly fantasies to protect the fragile insecurities.
