We could sit here all day repeating the various horrific phrases used by our shrinks that ultimately get you transferred (sorry: "recommended") to their psychiatrist buddies.
With a little phrasal rebranding, they could go from "shrinks" to therapists... but I don't think that they've taken enough communications classes to understand that.

Because since I don't believe psychiatry is a scam, my answer is. The symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and all the other mental diseases are cause by anatomical and biological malfunctions in the human brain.

I personally think there is a large misunderstanding of psychology here, the evidence is obviously proof the fact you have conservatives voting against their own interests XD. Having said that, psychology has gotten rather....watered down from its 1920s eras.
I would be a televangelist....but I have too much of a soul.

Because you may not have much of a choice in the matter, and because it can be good for a laugh now and again?
The sane can be surprisingly resilient... but you may not know it to look at them.

Psychiatry has worked very well with me, the medication keeps me stable, just going to a GP or just talking about it, would have not worked, well not in my case, I have schizophrenia.

Yeah, GPs are usually pretty ineffective dealing with serious mental illness.
I've encountered good psychiatrists and bad - some felt like they were just throwing pills at the problem, damn your complaints about side effects. Some are much better. Sounds like you're getting what you need, that's .
I don't have to take meds currently, but I don't think I would have found success in therapy without them.

I'll be completely honest.
If it weren't for a shrink I'd be dead right now.
Psychiatry works.

My medication is Quetiapine (Seroquel) XR, I have been taking it for about 12 years, my doctor wanted me to try another anti-psychotic, I have been looking on line, and they all sound horrible. I am just wondering if anyone knows of a good psychotic drug that has less adverse affects, and doesn't put weight on ?.

I don't. I took Seroquel for a year and couldn't tolerate it any longer. I put on a lot of weight too.

Yea I keep my weight pretty good, but I have to be on it all the time, or it will just sneak up on me lol. I would like to try another but just don't know which one, there all going to kill me in the end I suppose.
