So what I am mad because I don't like the idea of life's being destroyed, does it mean I am bonkers cause I don't think murder is right.

What is mad is arriving at that conclusion independent to reality, without considering the factual case. What's the difference between your belief that abortion is murder, and a crazy person's belief that the world is run by a shady cabal of lizard people? Neither of you considered the facts to come to your beliefs, neither of you is willing to be dissuaded by facts introduced later, and neither of you seem to realize that, when questioned, it is the underlying truthfulness of the premise being questioned and not whether it's right or wrong to murder.

So, what's the difference?

Like I said, I call my fiancee that too. I called my friends that, before it took on that significance. It's a subversion of gender roles thing: my male friends were kitten or love, my female friends were champ or slugger. It's just me being silly.

But again, thank you for taking charge of what I think for me. Obviously I can't be trusted with my own positions, since I keep thinking they're something else!

I'm well aware of how language works, which is why when I mentioned calling my friends that, I used what we in the business call the "past tense," to indicate that it occurred in the past. I then expanded on the point by observing that I no longer call them that, though some habits die hard.
