Indeed.
Jesus is a god and Vespasian is not? Both did miracles after all.

Carrier's explanation seems far more plausible.

I agree . . . That's just a matter of faith I guess. The main dividing point on the Christianity- atheist debate. It ends there. There is nothing more to prove or disprove.
And Vorlorn -vivalarevolutionite? Shocked to see a person who's analyzed the new testament and the old testament uptil 2 Samuel?
At a loss for words? Does this scare you that you cannot use the same arguments you against other Christians against me? I've looked into it carefully, just like you have, but difference is that what I chose to believe or disbelieve made no change in my faith in jesus christ .

But that's the issue. If it takes "faith" and not evidence, why would you believe it? What's attractive about believing something for which there is no proof?

Forgive me. Now that I read the post I realize I was far too negative. Which I didn't mean to be

Indeed. It IS a big question. But one to which I sadly have no answer at the moment

No, I'm not shocked. It's an admission of the truth about all religious beliefs. You believe because you have chosen to have faith and not because any evidence. I think that choosing to believe without evidence is stupid and irrational. There's no need to made a counter argument, because it faith isn't a argument at all. All you are saying is see I fooled myself.

And while I feel that my contribution in this thread is going to come to a close soon (since there isn't any debatable ground left) I would like to thank you all of you for making me challenge myself. I thought up all the answers to your questions in this thread by myself and I must say, I've discovered how much I really know.
Now thanks to debating with you guys and asking myself questions I didn't know the answers to, my faith is stronger than ever
Oh I didn't realise Jenny A replied.

How is demonstrating your lack of ability to answer questions helpful to your beliefs?

I feel I did answer questions. The only one I ddidn't answer is the one about miracles, for which no answer is presentable.
And I wasn't talking about only this thread, but all other threads

It isn't. It just takes even stronger blind faith to maintain faith in the light of her lack of answers. She's building up her compartmentalization muscles big time.

What about the divinity of Jesus, accounts of his life and actions, the authenticity of the words attributed to him in the New Testament, along with all of the miracle claims (which are a huge part if you're into that whole resurrection thing)?
