How can you say "take responsibility for your life"?

Your question is pointless because there is no reason to think about god. I don't think to myself "what would my life be like with god" because there is no point in doing that. It would just be ironic to do that because I don't even believe he exists in the first place.

God gave you intelligence to not be like cockroaches. Having or not having children is your conscious choice

While it is obvious that you, chas, and cthulhu have had run-ins before with MusiclovingAtheist, to anyone who is reading just this thread, you guys are acting like people with a serious PMS problem. He didn't call any of you out on this thread and he's going through a rough time sorting things out for himself. I do not consider the post to be a "dump" on the forum. I want people to see that my humanity has not been affected by my loss of imaginary gods.

Please keep your comments relevant to the current thread or at least explain yourself better..

I suggested he get medical help. I'm sorry you can't see the relevance of that. He is a disturbed boy - his condition is beyond normal teen angst.

Have you followed the whole thread and all of the interactions?
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

So you will have kids even if they will possibly endure same hardships that you do?

How about you be a little more direct. I don't lack empathy and I don't know what you're claiming with this "negative value to birth" stuff. I'm not about to sit here and argue with you about that because I don't see the point.

Saying he needs medical help is the same as saying "dude. you're so fucked up it'd take a professional to help you." It's pretty rude. I don't think you would have said that if the post had come from someone else you didn't have a history with.
Yes I did read all of the posts, twice even to see if I was missing something.
There is obviously a lot of carry over from other threads and I think they should either be dealt with in PM's or in the original offending threads, as threads like this make our forum look like a bunch of hateful atheists who even attack each other without provocation. We can't assume that visitors would read every other thread in which the offender crapped.

RE: How can you say "take responsibility for your life"?
You know what's annoying? I think this christian in this thread is trying to argue "if there is no god then why exist in the first place?". How about exist for the value of life itself. I see christians as just having a total disregard for life. They think that this life is just so awful and they think that they will be "rewarded" for having to live it. I don't think of life as one big heaping struggle. I think of my life as an unfortunate mess that could be better. It drives me out of my mind that it causes me so much stress just to live. It is very condescending for a christian to come in here and devalue my life with their make believe god.
