RE: How do you feel
Where did the OP get his statistics? Is he sure that Christianity is on a decline? I don't think it is. North Africa and Asia, hello?

atheists are. Atheists tend to be kinder, less judgmental, caring, helpful, humanists human beings that actual by all means are good people.

Lets go a bit deeper. What makes human beings different from other living things? where did that feeling/reasoning to want to do good things for others come from? why do some do good and why do most don't? what drives us to want to do good? what happens if we don't do good for others? what happens if someone dies and we did not do anything about it? are you really a good person doing good deeds in your power? did you sell all you have and give it to those who have absolutely nothing? did you save someones life? what makes us a judge? Evolutionists believe that everything came from a big bang..if that explains the physical world then ...did reasoning, love, thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc, come as a result of a big bang too? Are there atoms in love? Can we measure good in degrees? (now that would be scientific) what is our standard for good? what if what's good for me is bad for you? What's our reference? -our feelings? other people's feelings? what's considered the norm? A Bible-believer may argue that most atheists do good because they are using the good that was put in them when they were created...as we all were created in His image, and those that do not do good chose to overlook the good that is in them. But who do we look to for the right answers? I'd like to think there are answers and that there is a purpose for my existence, and that there is a truth out there that I can grasp. People who really study the Bible know that the book is all about Love. Love that God has for people and Love that God wants us to have for each other. And through all that God has given us free will to choose and be on His side or not. The Old Testament in the Bible shows us how it was before God came down (Jesus Christ) to die and pay a price for sanctification and set things straight. All this education talk is funny to me...the more I learn the more that I realize that the instincts of the people who were created thousands of years before us were much sharper than ours. Our senses are blocked by all the noise around us. The ancients felt the spiritual world, and we can too if we want to...nope, not all the weird stories you hear can be explained by science...there is God and evil out there. I choose to be with God.

Well, who can we trust to health the sick .... oh right, doctors.

Nevermind, I guess we'll just have to keep doing these things on our own.

What if...The Natural disasters were triple in number than they are...the hungry children are triple in number than they are now and the diseases are more severe and uncurable than they are now....what if God IS protecting us and we are seeing screenshots of what could really be?

Right, we don't really know...all we know that some say He is out there and is watching and helping and some like you say we're left alone and are actually surviving on our own with no help at all.

We do good things like all animals do good things for their species to survive and thrive. If anything, we're the most cruel species, ok? Every fucking animal is better than us in terms of goodness.

In general terms, you're claiming what millions of christians have claimed as one of their best arguments for God: We need morality to come from God.

1. No one who has read the bible would want that kind of morality to be our standard. Stoning children who don't obey, homosexuals and adulterers. What about slavery? Just slipped your fucking mind?

2. Many civilizations before (and outside) the bible knew that killing and stealing was wrong, thank you very much.

3. What the fuck does the bible teach us that we didn`t know?

Quote:What if...The Natural disasters were triple in number than they are...the hungry children are triple in number than they are now and the diseases are more severe and uncurable than they are now....what if God IS protecting us and we are seeing screenshots of what could really be?

So he's already helping, but he's incapable of completely stopping these malevolent things he himself created?

Read my lips: Fuck your god. And the schizophrenia you're trying to promote.
If it`s true that our species is alone in the universe then I`d have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

What to say about people like me, who have never been even slightly religious?

And as for all this "are there atoms in love" stuff; well, if we're playing deepities, what flavour is starlight? What do clouds sing at night? If the square on the hypotenuse equals the sum of the square on the other two sides, why is a mouse when it spins?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

1) What's your point? why is every animal better than us? why are we the most cruel species? so what's the difference between an atheist and a christian ( its man against animal now...)
And Yep we do need morality to come from a moral being. Where else then? If you are being analytical you should think about this too.
2) You sooo contradict yourself..you just said in your first response that " We do good things like all animals do good things for their species to survive and thrive" all the evil things you quoted are what people made to survive and thrive...not God's will at all. He made Adam and Eve in a beautfiful garden and blessed them with every wonderful thing...but told them not to eat the one fruit that would open their eyes to the evil out there...He said "you would die". Why did He keep it there? because He would be an unjust bully if He did not...it had to be their choice and they had to had trusted in Him. If your next question is why did He create us, then, I don't have an answer for you. But I am very happy to have experienced life than to not have existed at all.

Don't be all wrapped up in the Bible in your search to know whether there is a God or not (though I fully believe it is the word of God)The Bible is not God. So even before the Bible was written (compiled or whatever) all civilizations felt God and He or His angels appeared to them and most of all He created them in His image so they had goodness in them.
3) This is what you need to know to be free and really do good: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. He is the highest example of goodness that you can get. Giving yourself up for those who hate you whole heartedly…even you

you can keep saying god created everything. well me in the 21st century is going to kindly disagree. you see this is the problem with religion it spreads like a disease and messes with the minds of a region i just hope and i really hope the people in the far east can see through this trash. not to mention what it does to a culture they don't need other religions getting into their culture. god is irreverent today next year and to the next generation of people who are going to take our places. people go on and on about how god is good and great. but skip over the fact he made jobs like a living hell gotten his family killed over a petty bet with the devil. then also not to mention he floods the whole damn world animals and all and also makes a old man make a arc to save said 2 of ever creature. how is this guy even good he is evil. god didn't do anything god doesn't evil exist so back to my argument if you need a non existent being to make you do good things chances are your a horrible fucking person, because if one didn't you wouldn't do good things. i digress i'm actually pissed off.. sure religion is trying to grow in other countries its doing a better job in third world countries but give it time with china they wont really adopt it that easily just wait. Ill say it people of faith always said the end is coming and it fortunately never has and never will, the bible like every other piece of mythology just needs to go away. World peace and unity will never happen because of religion people will always have holy wars over it.

There is no truth in the bible if you want real truth get a education or go to the library. At one point it was truth to the people of the time because back then in biblical days people were dumb illiterate and uneducated. seriously were neither of that now stop believing and put faith somewhere good like humanity.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

RE: How do you feel
For what its worth, I keep saying God created everything because of all the evidence around and in me. For me its a solid truth that can't be side stepped. the evidence is all around us. Being in the 21st century equips us with more tools to see how vast His creation is..from the tiny atom to the universe, and planets that we are still discovering, and probably will continue to discover until the end. I will try not to quote the Bible here. Just evidence in and around us tells us that we were carefully thought-out. we are linked up...its simply an incredibly-mind-blowing invention/creation if you really stop to think about it. EVERYTHING is intelligently made- not accidentally.

I feel you are mixing up the way people practicing religion with the existence of God. I did not say that we can not do good at all. we can do good but without God's guidance we can not be ever sure of what is truly good. We can do good in the way we know it, but since you mention cultures, there are cultures that mean to do good but are not considered good from other culture's perspectives or the Bible's. Good will be all relative.

Try to see from the What if God exists lens: He would be supremely perfect, the perfect standard of goodness, cleanliness, love, Justice, and Truth etc....all these qualities go hand in hand. He can not be one and not the other. He can not be a loving God and not a Just God. He can not leave bad unpunished because of His Just nature etc. The stories of Job, the floods etc. fit into these characters of His. I am sure I can not fully satisfy your questions for these because He needs to answer for these Himself and I believe He does so to everyone who chooses to really listen. In talking about whether God exists or not, we are talking about a real Person. The way i do it- not intending to be corny here- is to ask him straight out..and He has answers me every time not out-loud, personally but through ways I can understand.

Holy wars may fit with Islam but not with the profile of Christianity as we know it today (New Testament Christianity at least) but have you ever stopped to ask...why with so feeble evidence (according to atheists) that Jesus continues to be worshiped and His believers are growing...since over 2000 years ago. what makes Him so different than any other man that lived on earth (it is proven historically that He was actually here on earth). so why is He sooo special? Why despite all attempts of education He continues to grow on people and is revered? I've read of so many people converting to Christinity just after hearing of Him- though they did not understand the entire Bible or the stories in it. It is because He is God and man and His nature and what He did explains all the rough patches we see in the Bible. I always say to myself...after the coming of Jesus, this has stopped, this has become better etc. He is the answer to everything. I also happen to believe the Bible is the truth however hard some of it is to swallow and so I believe that there will be an end time, but was not told to worry about it but to live life like the end will arrive suddenly- all the more reason to live life doing good for all others, so we will not be caught living a messy life. Jesus He'd ask something like this when He returns "I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was in prison and you did not visit me etc." He said to look for Him in every person that we see....sad how these teachings of His don't come up in conversations like these.

You..are aware that there are other religions in the world that have been around for much longer than Christianity, right? Your appeal to tradition is pretty horrendous, yo.
