The followers of the other gods find hope in their beliefs but, apparently, they don't really . . .

ROFLOL

How does one find hope in wood or stone, gods made of wood and stone what do they offer?

GC
Believers of other faiths do not think their god(s) are made from wood and stone. The wood and stone statues are just a representation.

Oh, don't forget that only GC's god is real and the believers in other religions don't really believe in their gods. They're just idols, unlike the millions of crosses and the idols . . . I mean "statues" . . . of a dead Jew on a stick.

It holds no sense. First off, unforgiven sin doesn't demand anything, it's just an inert abstract; it's your unforgiving God that demands infinite punishment. And that doesn't make any sense. We don't hold people accountable for the feelings of the wronged party. People are held accountable for their crimes. Nowhere else but in the warped mind of a Christian would that be considered justice. Nor is holding everyone deserving of the maximum punishment regardless of the severity of the crime. If your God were a judge, he'd rightly be held to be a monster. But I don't hold him as culpable as you for substituting a sing-song rhyme as an adequate defense for the horrific injustice you believe your God perpetrates. That's you doing that, and it's despicable.

No, that's the truth, sin is as a crime against a holy and righteous God, with no forgiveness there is no entrance into heaven, being hell is the only other place to spend eternity... well there it is, does that satisfy you, me leaving out the justice and giving you a reality to live with.

GC

Sin isn't a crime. Sin is just stuff a god doesn't like.

Or better yet, as the Buddhist quote states, sin is invented nonsense.

Sin is human nature criminalised.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Quote:Let me ask you this question, do you really believe Christ would not allow us to defend ourselves against mean people who are being plain old mean and, yet allow nonbelievers to protect themselves from the very same people?

GC

I apologize, I thought this was a rhetorical question.

If you ask if I think that you as a human being should have the right to defend yourself. Of course, I think that you should defend yourself and others.

Please remember, I don't believe that Jesus was god and I doubt that he even existed so asking me what I think that he requires from you is a bit like me asking you what Loki wants me to do.

However, according to your own beliefs, Jesus turned the cheek and met death with little resistance and even forgave his killers. I think that your Jesus would not approve of his followers torturing people

It tried to screw me up bad and did for awhile but I'm too smart to fall for those lies and threats of hell, purgatory, limbo and the like if you don't believe. The people who are religious dictators or priests and the like are egomaniacs who like to feel full of power and make others feel very small, ashamed of themselves and incapable of being decent human beings without believing in their false god. There is no god. I may be damned to hell by them who believe in the unbelievable but I couldn't care less. Religion is the real evil entity and I can see how those who attend church would approve of torture. They only want to do back what is done to them and that is pretty natural.

You sure are wishy washy. Look at the bold. Then you make the quoted statement. If it's natural then everyone should be supporting torture, what you said isn't natural.

Gc
Fudge you, a christian would say that. I didn't bold those things by the way, I don't know who did and don't care either strange one!
