I'm amazed at narratives in the bible where we are privy to conversations that happened in places the authors could not possibly have heard them. This a tell-tale sign of fiction, since the "narrator" can often just flit about, reporting anything anyone is saying at any time.

Because smart people tend to get flack from morons especially Neil Degrass Tyson even though he was poking fun at Christmas recently. If people cannot take a joke well that's their problem. Humanity is unfortunate have people who think Physicists are unimportant and do not contribute to the world. I mean think of it GC what if just what if the world didn't have the smart innovative people in it in the past and future. We wouldn't get far as we would be still in the dark ages. So when smart people say stupidity is their norm they usually mean the society at large or the people who are theists, exclude the children i think they had enough and besides the newer generations are pretty smart.
