That makes him a petty sadist. Not really. You hear all the time God is love but he is also a God of judgment. The Christian god is a full blown asshole. If he was so concerned about Adam and Eve eating from the tree, he shouldn't have put it within reach of them. Many Christians like to view their god as a loving parent, but a capable parent doesn't put something forbidden in reach of their children and then banish and curse them for touching it. Simply put, if god is a perfect being, he wouldn't make it so easy for his creation to fail. If god was a loving and just being, he would understand that the true failure and responsibility was his given he never explained why the tree should be avoided, and that he put it in a place that was too easily accessible. And for, you know, creating the serpent that tempted them in the first place. And if he was truly loving, he wouldn't kick his creation to the curb after it happened. The (very minor) sins of someone who supposedly lived 6000 years ago? Whom He even created Himself with all his faults? It's got all the marks of an abusive relationship. Our creator punishes us arbitrarily for things we haven't even done and we're supposed to make excuses for His aggression like that. Of course, none of that really exists, fortunately.

And what is this god meant to be judging anyway? Whether or not someone believes in it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

God can't be judgmental himself by Christian standards anyways people are created by god so if they act that way well they are a child of god so they picked off the bad parts of their spiritual parent.

Some people are jerks. You shouldn't generalize this about Christians however. |
