To be fair, I'll add to point 2 above "or innate bias".

Believe me, we've noticed the pathological need that some theists have for getting the last word in. Here's the thing: I have the "consolation" of living my life on my own terms before it's all over, while you live your life hoping to gain the approval of someone who will grant you a great reward once your life is over. Of course, if you're wrong, you wasted your one shot at living your life on your own terms. But at least you won't have to worry that I'll be there to say "I told you so."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Again, with the stupid person's interpretation of Pascal's Wager? Haven't we been over this? If you're wrong there still could be a god and/or afterlife, just not the one you've been betting on. There's an infinity of possibilities, where some god (like Allah, Zeus, Odin or Santa Claus) casts you away, for worshiping idols and false prophets. Or maybe even Jesus will send you to hell for turning your god-given brain into a wank-bag.
So keep telling yourself that there's either Jesus or nothing - you know that you have no shred of evidence, that your version of the afterlife is the "right" one, among thousands of primitive fairy-tales. I'd happily go to hell, just to see stupid expressions on the faces of inept gamblers, like you. Hell would be heaven for me. Thank you in advance.

FFS, you guys still don't get the Atheist position.
If somehow we could know whether or not a God exists, I wouldn't turn around and say "I was right" because I didn't ever make a positive claim. I would however be justified in telling you that you were wrong.
In a similar manner if we did find out a God existed, you couldn't tell me that I was wrong as I didn't make a positive claim. I would acknowledge that you were correct, however I sould still feel that your methodology was flawed, even though you got the correct answer.

Has anyone else noticed that the thing christians seem to fear the most is just being wrong? Like, I can't tell you how many times I've heard this refrain from believers, this "if you're right, you'll never be able to gloat!" idea from them, like it's some kind of safety blanket they're clinging to. But I've never once heard an atheist express disappointment that they'll never be able to say "I told you so," in fact I've never so much as heard the idea that we'd like to gloat once it's all over. It's yet another bizarrely self-centered christian theme, really; they seem to think that our lives are geared around getting at them, that we have some interest in teasing them from beyond the grave. Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm a goddamn adult, I have no particular need to rub it in, grade-school style, to a bunch of people I've never met.

Well, what's the point of being one of the chosen ones if you can't gloat a little?

Hmmmm... I don't know. I am an adult and all, but I can't deny I'd greatly enjoy making childish fun of religious people from beyond the grave. And since I know that won't be possible - I'm going to have to settle for mooning them from my death-bed.

If we run out of theists on the board, we can just play spin-the-wheel and see what they would have posted: Pascal's wager, an argument from ignorance, emotional manipulation, series of bald assertions, tu quoque, pseudo-science...

My only argument you attacked directly so far is my "told you so" argument, as if I didn't say anything else. I just gave you that one so that you'd have something to respond to and wouldn't feel so bad.

Ok, fine. You win. We all love Jesus now. Happy?
And Santa, and MyLittlePonies, and whatever else you people are into.
