I don't know how true it is in general - but food for thought: Our member list is by default sorted in reverse order of number of posts, and contains 355 pages. The first member with zero posts appears on page 219. So, here at least, two thirds of all members have posted at least once.

First members with 2 or more starts on page 176. Half of all members have 1 or 0 posts.

This could be informative, or annoying. Posting it anyways: http://atheistforums.org/stats.php

"Members who have posted: 61.57%"

It's just under two thirds, but that's a good enough estimate to me.

I kind of wish that the forum statistics page was more... statisticy, but I'm sure it doesn't matter.

Since we are getting somewhat removed from the OP, I will now tell you that I like your signature, which I will quote in case you change it:

"Life is short..." FALSE. It's the longest thing you do.

As for your thoughts regarding name changes, click on the name of the person (or, more properly, member, since a name need not be an actual person), and then look for the "Username Changes" under the "Status" information in the first section about that user name.

Hmm... I've only been here a year, but I do think we've been part of some conversations together in the past. I've always been SteelCurtain, though...

Fair enough, I remembered a big Steeler fan on here and thought you were him. I've been away for so a long time. Either way, I noticed that you used to be a Navy guy! I'm still active duty. Good to see a fellow squid around here!

Nice! I figured in VA Beach, you probably had some connection with the Navy. I was a West Coast guy. Figure you got something to do with the brown shoe side.
