Erm...how does a Pope have any sons?
With the Borgias (and some other papal 'dynasties') the rule about celibacy was honoured more in the breach than in the observance.

He finds a woman, they take off their clothes and naughty things happen.

Why did they?

I was brought up in the Church of England and I was educated at a C of E school and yes, they used a white, light-brown haired Jesus. Jeffsus, if you like.
I have read an article somewhere that the modern depiction of Jeffsus is something to do with Da Vinci painting Jesus to look like himself, a habit we carried-on with in Western tradition. I'll try and dig the article out.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

Makes sense. Christians model god after their own EGO, they hear their own thoughts when they pray to the holy spirit, so it is only fitting that they picture jesus after their mirror image.

Yep. At my lutheran church jesus was quite white.

Jesus was most certainly not white looking. It's hard to define what a race is anyway, but I'm confident he wasn't white and blonde (I've seen this picture many times - And this is if he even existed).
