Original sin is all about being "bad" for just being born, for being related to sinners. What else is it? Do you not believe this now? It would be great if you don't because it's a repulsive concept.
Immorality is a real thing, yes. Sin is not.

Genesis 3:19 makes it pretty clear that death was given to humans for the "sin" of eating an apple.

Right, and I'd like to point out for the record that it wasn't my snack, though I don't think that 'knowledge of good and evil' is a bad thing. Maybe that's my 'sin'.
Or maybe it's all ancient foolishness concocted by humans to pin the blame for mortality on humans.

I'm just glad they didn't drink milk and Pepsi, can you imagine the torment this merciful god would have thrown down for that?

Maybe God should practice what he preaches and get over a bit of fucking fruit already.

I have it on good authority that they did drink milk and Pepsi. That wasn't a problem per se. The trouble started when Adam figured out how to go a step further and make Colorado Bulldogs. God only condones Boilermakers.

Even hitler isn't evil all the time. He wasn't known to have been responsible for torturing and killing people for much of his first 42 years. The only being who is evil all the time in the sense of always torturing some large number of souls would be the Christian God.

It was for the "sin" of eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Or in other words for being moral as apposed to amoral.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

I prefer to phrase it in the dumbest possible manner. Knocks the legs out from under that "we're moral because God" thing in advance.

Joseph Heller would have a field day with that.
