Yeah, Milliband probably came off the worst in the debate. He seemed to dodge questions more than anyone, trying to deflect focus, and generally seeming like he didn't believe his own BS. Now he really blew it.

It's a shame, because they actually have really good animal policies (sorry I keep going on about it, it's just a massive thing for me).

Haha, UKIP got zero so far on our poll. Good.

Conservatives and Labour have both fucked the public over too many times, which I guess is why they're losing so much support.

What's wrong with someone voting for UKIP? It doesn't mean that they are a racist. Yes, it would appear that UKIP attracts these sorts, but it's not like the BNP. You can want to leave the EU and be against immigration without being racist.

I wouldn't vote for UKIP, but i wouldn't automatically begrudge someone who did.

Automatically dismissing people who vote for a given party that one finds 'extreme' or whatever is a dangerous tactic to employ.

UKIP, like them or not, IMHO, will get a 3rd of the total votes cast this election, though in terms of seats I suspect they will get hardly any due to FPTP and the spread of their voter base.

People identify with UKIP for one reason or another, and dismissing these people is dangerous, especially when they make up such a large % of the public by recent polls. You have to ask why they're voting for them, and really try and understand it. Immigration will certainly be an obvious point, as will EU membership. Can anyone here honestly remember the political parties having an open and honest discussions on either of these subjects?

I would like to talk to some UKIP supporters and see if they are aware of some of the insane shit they are trying to pull. I can't believe it wasn't brought up at the debate.

I don't think all UKIP supporters are racist, and it's not just the anti-immigration sentiment that turns me off them. I also don't like their environmental policies with supporting shale gas and fracking. They've also expressed anti-gay views and as a gay man, that affects me.

I feel it's a slippery slope too. It'll start with seemingly "soft" anti-immigration sentiment and could snowball into other things. That's what I'm worried about and I think a lot of people feel that way. UKIP are already bold about their views before we've even voted them in, imagine what they could be like if we give them power? No thanks. I wouldn't want to see my family or friends deported, and yes I do think they'd go that far.

Ed Milliband is desperate to win an election. He shouldn't even contemplate it. Maybe he's getting campaign funds from Saudi Arabia? I mean, Labour has moved so far to the right recently (see Political Compass website) that it wouldn't surprise if they go money from Fascists.

And in regards to UKIP, I've heard even some immigrants say there is too much immigration. In particular, people from Asia, who are perhaps not first generation immigrants. Sure UKIP is mostly pale and male, but they do have quite a few non-whites as parliamentary cadidtates - although not many I must admit. UKIP are sometimes described as Fasciats but UKIP are different Fascists for two many reasons: 1. UKIP want a smaller state. Fascists tend to prefer public ownership (consider Front Nationale in France which wants to nationalize lots of stuff, if I recall). And 2. UKIP don't talk about a struggle between nations or peoples in the same way somebody like Hitler did.

I think I'm going to stick with Green. I don't think they will win, but I think there's a small chance they could end up in a coalition. That way their animal policies will hold back the tories (if they win) and hopefully do more, maybe get some environment on the table, and their wacky ideas won't matter.

I had three or four shoved through my letterbox yesterday from various parties, including the English Democrats ("England is a christan nation and we will not surrender to the muslim invasion", or something along those lines. *Vomit*), and I'm getting a couple practically every day now for both local and general elections.

Is that just going to split the Britain First vote? I salute the English Democrats for alienating part of society. They'll only make people more inclined to make irrational decisions and grip the Saudi funded Fascists have on those sections of our society will only grow tighter.

If the Green Party wanted to get more attention they'd say lots of silly things, like Nigel Farage does. They'd have lots of theatrics too. And they certainly wouldn't talk about the environment or how certain people are being made scapegoats. The Green Party sticks to their founding principles. Only thing I really disagree with is their stance on power generated by Nuclear Fission because newer reactors are so much more efficient and safer.

I don't live in the UK anymore and don't plan to again in my life, so even though I have a vote I feel it would be unfair to cast it. Having said that, if I was still in the UK I'd probably vote for UKIP.
