Even if someone among them finally popped him, that would not mean they would suddenly become secular. If that were to happen, it is more likely they would swing more to China's political system. But if someone did, it would also be a replacement that would be more sane. Un comes off like Bush Jr wanting to prove he can be better than daddy was. No not calling Bush a dictator, just inept.
No I wouldn't lose a lick of sleep if someone popped him.

Swinging more to China's political system? That would be a hell of an improvement. The question is how China, the US and SK will react when NK is removed as a crazy no man's land buffer and becomes allied with either side.

I think if the tension between the U.S. and China is high, as they will soon get as Obama contemplates direct U.S. involve,EMT in territorial disputes between China and its neighbors, China will invade North Korea if it detects any weakening of North Korean ability to deter a military invasion from the south, or if it detects any interim power arising in North Korea exhibiting a pro-us tendency.

Both China and U.S. agree the Kim regime should go. What they disagree on is who should dominate the post Kim North Korea. Kim doesn't care who dominates Korea after Kim goes, he only cares that Kim shouldn't go. So even though North Korea's propaganda is directed mostly at the U.S., north korea's nuclear weapons are directed equally at China and the U.S.
China doesn't have much of a leash on North Korea. China has zero interest in a nuclear armed North Korea, and couldn't stop North Korea going nuclear.

Kim needs to deter both China and the U.S. from trying to effect a regime change. Both have an interest in regime change.
China would rather have good relationships with South Korea than with North Korea. Chinese economic interest in South Korea dwarves its interest in the north. It's only the presence of the U.S. as a third player in the region that gives North Korea value as a buffer state for china.
